I need a little help. In June (15-26) we are traveling to Topsail, FL with 94tri and my father. Thinking ahead we made our reservations last summer. In the mean time my two older brothers have also decided they would like to go for the first week. Unfortunately, Topsail is already full and will only accept drive ups for the last spaces. Does anyone know if Topsail will take phone reservations on the date of arrival instead of drive up? It would be terrible to drive all the way from KY and not have a place to stay when you get there. Also, does anyone know of a nice campground near Topsail just in case my brothers can not get in? I would appreciate any assistance you can offer.

If that doesn't work out, about 5 miles east of Topsail on Highway 30-A is Grayton Beach State Park. Really nice sites, on the ocean and Western Lake. Also check out Henderson State Park over in Destin (about 12 miles west of Topsail).

A cancellation is your best bet, because a walkup means you have to be "physically present" to snag the site.......they won't reserve over the phone. Many of the more popular campgrounds have folks that want to extend their stay.....they are usually the first in line when it opens in the morning.
In addition to Topsail.....the following would be my alternates, listed in order of preference: Henderson Beach, Rocky Bayou, and Grayton Beach. Make a reservation at one of them, and if something opens at Topsail take it, then cancel the alternate reservation.....it only costs $10 to cancel.
Hi,
If you don`t have any luck with the state parks you can try one of the private campgrounds which is about a 15 min drive from Topsail and it is called Camping on the Gulf. I have stayed at this park once due to not being able to make a reservation at a state park and it is OK but very busy and pricier but could serve as an alternative.
Topsail is an excellent state park we were down there a few weeks ago for the canopener rally. Grayton and Henderson are nice as well.Good Luck
