Help on Upcoming Trip

Hope some of you can give me some tips.

Every year my wife and I take one long, at least to us, trailer vacation. Starting in Montgomery, Texas with our 27 foot Safari/Expedition(now Nissan Armada)/Hensley, we have traveled about 27000 miles . Our trips have been 1) to Palm Springs, 2) Key West, 3) to Charleston and Savannah, 4) two to Colarado, and 4) last year around Lake Michigan. We travel every second or third day, seeing sights and playing golf about 2 times a week.

This year we will return to the Michigan Upper Peninsula and instead of turning right we will go left at Marquette and circle the western half of Lake Superior, go into southern Canada, come back through western North and South Dakota, Colorado, and New Mexico. We plan on being on the road about 6 or 7 weeks.

I have pretty good information on the things to do and see in all places except southen Canada, North and South Dakota. Can any of you give me some ideas of attractions, etc. that I should see? Also any recommendations regarding campgrounds in Minnesota, Canada( Winnepeg area), N and S Dakota will be appreciated.

I can't help you with the other places but for South Dakota I can. years ago we camped at Lake Pactola and visited all the area attractions including Mt. Rushmore, Wind Cave, Crystal Cave, the towns of Deadwood, Lead, and Spearfish, Crazyhorse Memorial, there is so much to see and do in the Black Hills. Man I want to go right now. Course there's lots of fishing too.

Depending on which way you go around Lake Superior... on the south side stop in Bayfield, Wisconsin. There is a beautiful campground about 1 mile north of town called Dalrymple that is run by the city and is right on the lake (see campgrounds). Take a boat ride to tour the Apostle Islands, attend the evening Big Top Chautauqua show, and shop in the little town.
