Hellacious Hailstorm

Just completed 10,000 mile journey through West and Northwest and had great weather except for one night in Montana when a vicious thunderstorm with hail awakened us in the middle of the night. Our front windshield was open and shattered but tennis ball sized hail. Front and back panels were severely dented. TV windshield cracked in four places. Back in Texas for appraisals and repairs. Progressive will appraise next week on the SportFB22.
Would be interested in hearing of other’s experience with Progressive.

Many times in today's world you might wait months for warranty work repair. Imagine the the problems and time you will spend WAITING to have this large a repair completed.

Push hard and demand they deem your trailer a TOTAL LOSS!

Sorry to hear. I'd also like to see feedback about Progressive, especially in regards to hail damage.

Sorry for your the damage. You might find a better audience in the Insurance etc. forum:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f351/

. . . where there may already be some helpful threads IMO.

Also, these "Progressive Insurance hail damage" search results may be productive:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Prog...=airforums.com

. . . including these threads:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f348...ch-192878.html
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f44/...ge-160819.html

Good luck,

Peter

Quite welcome.

Suggest communicating with the insurance company, repair shops, etc. via email [CC your insurance agent], including emails to summarize personal conferences and telephone calls. Our tow vehicle got rear-ended a couple of years ago, and leaving a good paper trail paid off handsomely in the end.

Good luck,

Peter

I had a brand new F350 back in 2003 and a huge hail storm put over a thousand dents on my truck. I was heartbroken. My insurance was Farm Bureau and they estimated my damages at $16,000. They gave me a check and a Paintless company came into town and said they would fix all my dents for $4,000. I took it in at 7am and picked it up at 6pm. You couldn't tell there was ever a hail storm. Amazing they can pop those dents out.

Can't do that with the new aluminum body fords now!

I don't have pictures of the hail damage on my F350, before smart phones. Regarding aluminum body Fords and hail damage, no reason to think that Paintless methods won't work. You need to see how they do it with heat and levers. They took my whole headliner out to pop the dents on my cab.

Just wanted you to know that Progressive Insurance came through for us big time. We had full replacement coverage, and Progressive fulfilled their promises. We had 8 panels damaged by hail that were beyond repair. The trailer will go to salvage. Someone will get a great dimpled Airstream Sport 22ft.
We are purchasing a 25ft Flying Cloud FB. Can’t wait!
