Headed to NTAC in Texas

Roaming about Texas and decided to head to the NTAC site in Hillsboro Texas. Just curious what I should expect to find there. Anyone there currently?
Thanks!

It would be interesting to get a peak inside one of those cabanas that some owners have down there. I wonder if you can live in them for the months you are not traveling. This is one option we are thinking about when retiring. It would be interesting to understand the costs of building one, since there is a building convenient and how much taxes and membership fees would be. Might be a good place to winter. From looking at their website the visitor camping is adjacent to the resident area. Maybe you can post a report with a few photos.

I have been to NTAC several times with my Wbcci unit Highland lakes. Very nice airstream only park. Yes, you can live in the Cabanas when not traveling. They also have homes and building lots available to purchase. Residents are very friendly and put on many social events in their very nice event building. Their camping area is very nice with full hookups and inexpensive .

"Yes, you can live in the Cabanas when not traveling." How big are these "cabanas?" Do they have a kitchen, bathroom, heat, a/c in them? Why not just live in the Airstream?

We're starting to think about having some sort of home base, so we have checked out the Escapees Co-ops in New Mexico and Texas. Once we get our Airstream, of course, the Airstream-only parks would also be available.

There are 2 Airstream only parks in Texas. The other is TAHI (Texas Airstream Harbor). It's on the shore of Lake Sam Rayburn just a bit NE of Zavalla, Texas. (About an hour north of Livingston where Escapees Rainbows End is located.) We have paid them a visit as a potential home base. Also very friendly. They do have cabanas with kitchens, bathroom, bedroom etc. You can also put a cabana on lots that don't have one yet, which gives you the option of customizing your interior space.

We spent a few days at NTAC and will be regular visitors there as it's about half way between two of our children. The place is very nicely kept and the office staff is superb! There are 24 terraport spaces for short term stays. No trees so I'm sure come summer it will be hot. There are about a dozen regular houses and probably close to 80 "villas" basically metal buildings on a 40' X 80' space. Buildings vary from a large carport with small storage area to over 2k sq feet. There are several for sale and it seems like they sell quickly. There is a nice rec room and library. The only negative I can mention is the wi-fi is useless and there are no showers. Several of the residents meet at the dog park around 4 pm for group play(the dogs) and make you feel quite welcome.Click image for larger version

Photos show a couple of rigs on the short term area.

Just purchased our "new" 89 Excella from a resident there. Wonderfully nice residents and staff! Stick and nail brick RV homes and the metal building villas.
