Hi folks,

I am not a regular TT visitor being a motorhome owner. However, I know this is impossible. But, in my very younger years my family (Dad, Mom, Brother and I) travel the west coast as my dad was a construction worker and in those days you followed the jobs. A dam here, a freeway there etc. We lived for years in a trailer that my dad pulled behind the car. This is a picture of it. I would love to find out what kind of trailer that way and maybe a manufacturers name. Anyone have any ideas??




An yes, the kid on the right is little Davey Bowers almost exactly 50 years ago.

This picture was taken November 1, 1952, in Blackstone, VA. Again, my mother's car on the right. I guess you could say I've been hanging around travel trailers since I was a gleam in my mothers eye!

I really hesitated to leave the post. I am a Barth motorhome owner and not an Airstream owner. However, you have all been so kind in your responses. Just like all RV'ers.

I recall when I was boy, my dad use to talk and dream about someday becoming an Airstream owner. There were so many times when we were traveling that we would see the caravans of bright shinny Airstreams on the California highways, (which were mostly 2 lanes at that time).

One time we were setup (in the trailer you see above) somewhere, it could have been Bakersfield, Yuma or Oceanside or anywhere in between. A great Airstream pulls up and camps along side of us. I recall that the woodwork was maple. I was only maybe 8 years old and learned what beautiful maple woodwork looked like that day and have never forgot the experience. Probably, because my mom talked about that "maple Airstream" until she left us some 15 years ago.

I have a 1985 28 foot Barth Regal.



Yes the CO story is true. The guy who left the story for me only has pocket mail so can't leave a post on the website, however, I get emails from him almost every other day.

It turns out that the problems was in his furnace. The burner had a crack in it. He got it fixed but then went out and bought one of these propane heaters. He says he will never use his furnace again. He is in the south so he never needs any big time heating I guess.
