Hartwick Pines SP, MI site recommendation...

Hi all,

We are in the early stages of planning a visit to a dear friend next spring. (She will be recovered from cancer surgery by then (serious finger-crossing here!).

We want to stay at Hartwick Pines State Park about which we have wonderful reviews. I will be staying in the area (sans motorhome) in Dec. to help out after the surgery, but I suspect it will be too snowy to scope out sites. I can't tell from the CG map what sites would be the best choice. Can you help us in our quest?

Best wishes for your friend's recovery! If you like full hook-ups the purple area of the campground map is the one you want to check on. 7-14 (electric only) are nice as they back up to trees. The reservation software tells you the size, if the site is level/shaded too, so as you go to make your reservations (good idea to do 6 mos beforehand if you can) see what you think. It will say unlevel or tent only if there's a problem with the site. There's a small fishing lake, but no lake front sites there. Its a great park, hope you have a wonderful time in Michigan!

That's just what I needed to know. Wanted to have a site that didn't back onto a view of others or a parking lot.
