Good Sams ERS

I am currently enrolled in the Good Sam's Emergency Road Service and thankfully have never had to use it. Its time to consider renewing for another year for $112.95. Any thoughts on the services provided by the Good Sams ERS. Thanks

My Father used it last Summer when he had a blowout on I-95. He said the response time and service were good. I'm sure the level of service varies from location to location, but he's 70 and has no desire to fix anything on the side of the road.

I had Sam and had to use it. They will only tow you to the closest Garage. In my case that garage had been out of business for 6 months. After a long talk with their rep as my truck hung off the back of the wrecker the driver final got on the phone and convinced Sam that there was No Garage there and he wanted to go home.

I now use AAA which will tow me up to hundred miles to the Garage of my choice.

Oh by the way the second garage Sam tow me to destroyed my engine, it was repairable when I left it. It then cost me $500.00 to have it towed home and $8,000.00 for a new engine. I would not recommend Sam.

I have used it twice; once a tow from the middle of nowhere to Gallup NM on a Sunday morning - 60 miles. Service was fantastic. Second time I need to find a shop while I was traveling (umbilical came loose and dragged itself to death); operator found a truck repair shop on my route and they were waiting for me when I arrived.

I'll stay with them for as long as I am a traveler.

Somebody, please, point me to the road.

I would suggest you see if your auto insurance offers this kind of coverage on you policy. If so it is probably a lot less expensive. I have had very good service when I have used ours.

But then again, I am not a Good Sam Fan.

As for the price of the Good Sam ERS, watch the Camping World Ads. The last time I renewed, the ad came out with a price of $99.00; I called Good Sam and they gave me a refund.
When I used the ERS, Good Sam was very helpfuland timely. They do what they advertise as for the tow, they tow you to the nearest repair shop. In most instances the shop is not part of the Good Sam network.
