Gone Fishing!

The weatherman says it's going to be an amazing weekend in the Fraser Valley here in B.C., Canada. The weather forecast is predicting 28 Celcius (83 degrees in American lol). Not bad for early May in B.C.. My 11 year old son and I are playing hooky on Friday and are heading up to Kawkawa Lake in Hope, a small town about 2 hours east of Vancouver to do some fishing. We spent the last 2 days getting our 1987 29' Argosy Squarestream ready for her maiden voyage this season. All the Appliances fired up with no issues (thank god!) The water system held up well over the winter too. I replaced my bearings about 4 weeks ago with the help of 2 other WBCCI members from the BC Club. I'll try to post some more pics once we're up there tomorrow, but for now here's a pic of Alice & Rambo waiting to leave early tomorrow.

Post some photos of the interior of your Argosy too.

Thanks for sharing

Geez, we cancelled our fishing trip here in Mississippi for this weekend...it's supposed to be 37 degrees (American) tonight.

Well we had a great day soaking up the vitamin D! We got skunked by the fish but we still had an awesome time. We ended the day with a fire by the lake as we watched about 20 bats swoop low over the lake gobbling up insects. I will try to post some photos of the inside of the Argosy later.

Love the pics! Sorry to hear the fish skunked you, but as they say...

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work!

The interior looks great! Looks very comfortable. I don't know anything about Argosy. What is the exterior construction? Thanks for sharing.

It's an aluminum skin but does not use rivets. The skin is glued onto the aluminum frame with a space-age glue. Similar weight to a regular riveted Airstream of the same size. Mine is 29' (actually 29' 6") and it weighs 5400 lbs dry. I use equalizer bars when I tow it, but it still tows like a dream even without the equalizer bars on my hitch. I don't use an anti-sway bar system and I hardly get affected by the turbulence from big rigs. The type that I have has garnered the nickname of Squarestream, because of the square shape of the corners. This gives the interior storage cabinets a ton of room inside, and more headroom in the corners.

Glad to hear about such good weather and the lack of fish doesn't bother me too bad either. I was recently complaining about not catching any fish when an old gentleman explained some very important facts of life to me. He said, "Do you remember laying on your back and watching the clouds float by when you were a boy. That is the way to fish. Put the hook in the water and lay back on the grass and relax. If you start catching any fish you have done messed things up. There is work involved in reeling in, rebaiting, and cleaning fish. I've decided he might be right. I plan to really enjoy my next trip.
