Golden Access Passport Card

I don't know how many of you are already aware of this government good deal. I found out this week from another camper that I was eligible for the Federal GOLDEN ACCESS PASSPORT Card. I didn't know what it was. He told me, since I was permanently disabled, that I was entitled to this card. I allows me to enter all Federal Fees sites, such as National Parks, National Forests, Bureau of Reclamation lands, Fish & Wildlife areas, Corps of Engineers and Tennessee Valley Authority recreational facilities for FREE and camping fees are 50%. Wow! This is going to save me alot of money since I use those facilities almost exclusively.
So I went and got one today. If you are permanently disabled and receive some sort of Federal compensation, just bring a doctor's letter or in my case, as a disabled veteran, a letter of disability qualification from the VA, to a participating Federal facility that requires fees and they will issue you one.

We agree, thisi is a great deal for travelingn campers. Max has had one for five or six years. Sometimes we have camped for $3 dollars a night for a FS site for example. Bob, what a good thing to post for the forum! ~G

Yes, this is a wonderful thing. You need either disability or retirement status to qualify. Mom has a Golden Age passport and we've used it from coast to coast. Now that I have the AS, I'm packing her little butt up and we're going to camp in some of these national treasures. Well worth the time to get one if you qualify. Check here for more info: https://buy.nationalparks.org/golden.asp.

Yup- pretty sweet deal for those of us that have given some of ourselves to our country. California also has a Disabled Veteran/ POW pass that allows no fees for day use AND camping. When I show that pass at a state park the attendants- mostly young folks- almost always thank me for my service to country. Semper Fi Tim
