Going to Seattle from California

So I'm driving the rig to Seattle this weekend and will return in about a week. I usually take two days to drive each way, as I like to take it slow and smell the roses.

Since this '92 300LE TBI is new to me, and I didn't find any paperwork on recent maintenance in the last 3000 miles (although the PO swears he's had it done), I would like to have a pre-flight maintenance done to it.

I definitely will do a full lube with oil, filter, chassis, (what weight is suggested for the 454 with a Banks?

Will change the air filter.

What about the gas filter?

What about the tranny and the rear end? Should I have them change the fluids on those?

They'll air up the tires to spec as well.

Anything else I should have done before this trip?

I was told that the drive up the Oregon Coast is amazing, and I've never done that, so I'm considering it instead of taking I-5 all the way up as I've done before.

Not sure of where I can stop but I'll research a little and if anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate them.

Yes, Highway 101 up the Oregon coast is a beautiful trip with lots of excellent camping. That route would take quite a bit longer than I-5, of course, but if you have the time it's definitely worth it.

We blogged about our trip south on the OR coast last year. If you want to get an idea, start here and "next" your way through a few of our posts: http://www.casarocinante.com/Blog/On...o-Cannon-Beach
