Goal Zero Lighthouse 250 LED Lantern

I just bought 2 of these. A friend of mine recommended them and they appear to be a great addition to our AS and the home.

They're great, I've been using their previous generation while camping for ~5years. This new updated version is a nice upgrade, although twice the price as the old one. All my goal zero gear has working flawlessly over the years.

I think I will continue to use my trusty old gas/white gas Coleman lantern.

Hard to plug in your gas powered smart phone isn't it?

hey Terryv
you may be on to something here. No USB.. No electronics while 'camping' Just the simple sound if the old colemen humming away in the background without any annoying 'ring tones' or trendy bells going off. When the tank pressure goes too low and needs a pumping, you will probably need a fresh beer or need to rid yourself of an old one. Life is in ballance and the world can go about its business on is own. what a concept!

An explosive/combustible product that has to be stored and regularly replenished vs an option that lasts (essentially) forever and is freely renewable. I'm pretty sure I made the correct decision

You aren't forced to connect "electronics" to it, it's merely an additional feature that it offers.

I agree with you all around. just thinking back to much simpler times...... if not more dangerous!
we used to live in Burlington years ago. Good to see a "local" poster chiming in. All the best.

Are they as bright as a coleman single/double mantle lantern?
Over the years I've found that these were too bright, and screwed up my night vision when looking away from my illuminated camp. Couldn't see the ground, rocks, trees, to avoid tripping.
I went to kerosene hurricane lanterns, they have that soft warm yellow glow that doesn't kill my ability to see anything at the dark edge of camp. And you can turn the flame down to a nite light and leave burning all night.

At least she's honest. Some "people" would just guess. She should have answered, " Right here, The same place I am, Duh"

It doesn't really matter what you like to take along when you get "AWAY"

It just matters that you get "AWAY" now and then to restore your balance.

No, I won't try to explain that to you. Someday you will understand.

USB port is in the dash of the TV. The phone stays there too. It's for MY convenience if I wish to talk to someone.
