GO/NO GO to Edisto beach this Sunday thru Saturday (10/5 to 10/10)

We currently have reservations at Edisto Beach this Sunday thru Saturday. We have been watching the weather and it doesn't look good...So we are on the fence about going. Are there folks in the area that are willing to give a thumbs up or thumbs down...on keeping current plans?
If we were to change plans we'd prolly look to head to the Florida Panhandle area...and suggestions?

The forecast says it's going to be a little cool, but the sun will be out each day.
That weather seems perfect to me.
Why not go?

Hi! We live in Charleston & Edisto is 25 miinutes from my house. It is dreary & rainy & that is the forecast through Sunday. It is flooding downtown due to rain & high tides. I'd recommend going somewhere else this weekend.

I am in Myrtle Beach right now laying in a more room. It's 60, rained all night and supposed to get worse for the weekend.

Perfect weather for snuggling, reading a book, making cookies, Why not in a Airstream? If the weather breaks, good time for a walk. I doubt that it would be crowed....perfect.

We had a weekend rally planned for Edisto but cancelled due to weather forecast. Rains are supposed to end on Sunday so you should be fine for next week. You can call the park and ask the ranger about the condition of your site. If you decide to cancel DO NOT call Reserve America. Call the park. They will at least let you change the date. R A won't let you do anything.

We live on Edisto Island and expect wet conditions through Saturday. Looks pretty good for Sunday and a beautiful week coming up with highs in the 70's. Looks to me like your reservations are perfect. Roads are currently fine.

All... Thanks for the replies. Unless things take a turn for the worse... We are keeping our plans and arrive around 4 pm
Edistobob... Thanks for the advise. We did contact the park office and they are more than happy to change dates for us... All the way to noon on Sunday.
As always ReserveAmerica will make the change for a fee...
Safe travels for all traveling this weekend!!!

Even a rainy day at Edisto Beach is a good day.

Edistobob... Thanks for the advise.
If your plan is to travel today (Saturday), it's going to be a unpleasant journey towing from KY to SC, right through the worse part of the heavy rain storm. If it were me, I think I would delay traveling for one day.

The best day of the year at a beach is the day after a good storm. If I did not have an appointment this Wednesday I would ask for your reservations.

Been on the beach at Edisto under an evacuation threat. Little water came over the dune but surprised the rangers by coming up from the back bay close to the entrance because the last 2 wind driven tides could not get back out Jermy.

We have reservations from Sunday (tomorrow) through next Saturday at Hunting Island State Park. They are telling us right now that they have 4 inches of standing water in the campground, and they have "encouraged" us to re-schedule our trip. HOWEVER, we have planned this for a year. We thought well, we'll move the reservations to the kids Spring Break 2016 — NO GO ... already booked up. So, we thought we'd transfer to the pan handle of Florida — NO GO ... not one available campsite on the pan handle. It is a long way to drive on the outside chance of a cancellation. So, we are monitoring and may leave in the AM to head to Hunting Island.

So if you arrive, we are interested in a report!
Thanks
D

Jane,
Thanks... We decided that we will leave Sunday morning. That will have us arriving around 3pm.
We also looked at changing plans with no success.
So we are packed and ready to head out early in the morning. The ranger at the office said they got little rain yesterday. We plan on calling then later for a final update.
