Too bad the trash was right there. Must make a racket when people come by and try to figure out the bear proof latch and then accidently slam it down. Hope there wasn't any fumes. In 2011/2012 we had 77 which I think is just across the from your site. 77 is large enough for our Airstream and offers plenty of solar. The nice thing about this campground are the roads are not one way and are wider so you can pull your trailer in the direction so you door faces the campsite vs the road.

The beauty of your photos overshadows the hassles of the crowds. Once settled, you are having an unforgettable experience. I've never seen a grizzly in the wild. I hope he caught a fish and wasn't too hungry when you were close by.

The harder the trail, the less crowded

Next visit to Glacier I want to try the Mt Brown trail. You start on the Sperry trail again then turn onto the Mt Brown trail. Supposed to be a good workout. Snyder Lake trail is next off the Sperry trail and would be easier with the reward of an alpine lake at the end. Guess I should do both (but not on the same day).

Actually, that bear was a brown bear, and she had a cub following her, but it got spooked when I whistled at the mom to get her attention, and then the cub climbed a tree. She entered the water and crossed toward our side, then turned and went back for her cub who slid down the tree and off they went....I'm not sure what I was thinking...whistling at a bear with a cub, for a good picture, but it was pretty exciting! Unfortunately, we were the only campers home at the time to see this up close; everyone was out hiking at 4pm that day.

Being that close to the trash bin, did bring a little noise from time to time, slamming the lid down, but it is a great location for sure in that campground. Second time we had that spot and we did not notice any smell; just the occasional noise when we were home...

The high mountain tops are getting white around Colorado too. We drove through a snow squall on the way over Vail and Loveland passes on the way home the fourth week in September. Winter is on its way.

Thanks, like your photos where you've been! On our list!

Apologies, We're newbies to this! Can you tell us what bike rack brand/model you have over the propane locker? Sturdy? It looks smart! We have an FC 23FB pulling with a MB 2009 GL320 Blue tech. Pulled fine from US northeast to SoCal west coast in March, no bikes yet but I feel bike weight would be better on the front than dangling on the trailer rear. We'll eventually put Kayaks on top of the SUV. Many thanks,
Newbies

Luckily, we had made reservations as there was there was a local event and the KOA was full. We took advantage of their Hunt Brothers Pizza delivered to our campsite for the evenings meal. Average mpg for this leg was 12.3 mpg. Towing our 2008 Classic 25fb with a 2015 Ram CrewCab 2500 Cummins.

Here are a couple of photos showing our water/electricity site at the KOA and the corn field behind the KOA.

The bike rack is the Arvika. One of my previous posts has the link.

I've counted three times someone asking about your bike rack! Funny

We love Glacier NP and plan to take our new AS there - perhaps next year - as a part of a more extensive trip to include Banff, Jasper, etc.
