Ft. Wilderness here we come

So I am going to Ft. Wilderness tomorrow morning. I am leaving the house @ 10:30am and expect to arrive around 11:45am. Is there anything that we shoud be aware of before arriving? I just renewed our annual passes so I recieved that discount.

We are staying in the pet loop because some friends are bringing there dogs. In total there are two trailers 8 people and 3 dogs.

I will be there 11/11 - 11/14. Hope to see some of you there.

Rebiilding a 1976. Hope to be through by Christmas. Got reservations to FW in Feb. to force me to hurry up.Didn't realize it was high usage time then and prices were high also. Thought school was in session but forgot about snow birds. O Well. Three Grandkids Priceless.

So I have returned from Ft. Wilderness and it was a great success. I could not believe the amount of fun and enjoyment that we all had. Cooking out was a a great time for all of us to come together as friends and just shoot the proverbial sh*t. I think that for the first time a few of my friends really understand the enjoyment that camping can bring vs staying in a hotel all your life, so much that he and his wife are now looking for a TT. I really enjoyed hanging out at the parks as well. This was certainly not my first time at Disney but it was a first camping there in a really long time.

Now we are looking to return to soon I just wish there were availability Friday 26-27th for a short little weekend run.

Also just for future FYI if you have parties of 8 or more they will give you group priority so that your sites will be close as well as a free adventure in one of the parks. For us it was a private safari ride.

PS.. If you know a good time to call about reservations or a way to get a site PM me.

Chris

We belong to the Disney Vacation Club and can use our points at Fort Wilderness. It's a pretty good deal - you might want to check into it. We're using our points this year to go on a 7-night Disney cruise.

So as an update after calling and booking 2 different reservations I was successful in booking the Thanksgiving holidays. This required calling every 10 min for 3 days, good thing my GF currently has no job. Also just a future tip for everyone is that FW will not let you book less than four days online for any given time when they are busy. You must call and ask to speak to a manager. If not you will be told no avail. Also if you call and book a tent or popup site and tell them you have pets you will pay an extra $5 per night but you will be placed in a pet loop which has full hook up's(this is not what I did but a friend that is traveling with me did.)

Hope to see some of you there.

I think it might be an extra $5 a night no matter what the campsite...but I am not sure.

You are correct, however there are only a few pet loops in the campgound.

I just returned from anther great weekend safe and sound. I stayed in the 1600 loop again. When checking in I had asked about AAA, florida resident, and annual pass discounts, the nice lady informed me that they were at capacity and nit offering discounts but that she would not charge me for the pets saving $15.

I have already booked for Jan 28-30.

Something that we did this time is that we booked to stay the night sunday so that we could leave everything at the campsite until we were ready to leave around 7pm. This did mean packing up in the dark however it was worth it in my eyes.
