Friendly and disgusting warning

Many travelers are unaware if this growing epidemic....
In all areas of the country, interstate rest stops are being tainted with human urine! Semi truck drivers are being forced (maybe by choice) to drive longer distances, therefore taking fewer potty breaks. As a result, many will relieve themselves in gallon milk jugs, then to save time, empty them in the ground in rest areas! Some go the extra step and plumb a hose from a funnel through the floor directly to the ground.
Be very aware should you be traveling with your kids, pets, or just shoes.
Another shining example if the best of the human race.... now we have to worry and deal with rivets of human waste as we wander about!
I actually had a very nice trucker approach me and directed me to SEVERAL other truckers offloading their accumulated pee jugs.
He went on to tell me that some will just chuck full jugs out their windows at night! Next time you are out, notice how many milk jugs are out there!
Total awful practice!

That's silly. You wear shoes to protect your otherwise bare feet; now we have to protect our shoes, too? Drive with rubber galoshes?

Where will the madness end! I would then have to protect my galoshes, and soforth and so on.
Then there is the new issue of protective shoe storage....

You must have lived a sheltered life. This stuff has always gone on! My biggest complaint is pampers all over parking lots. One of my jobs at the grocery store I worked at was cleaning the restrooms several times a day. A little bit of urine was the least of my problems. Almost all the customers were women and their kids. Ladies rooms were always the worst. Just thinking. Jim

In my youth I had a job cleaning parking garages and the State Fairgrounds at night. I won't even tell you the things I had to deal with!

What is on the ground outside is why we are a shoeless house and Interstate.

Whatever is on the soles of your shoes is left at the door.

Here I thought it was the nasty foam backed vinyl headliner making that horse barn smell…..so, it just might be the carpet.

Oxyclean and a couple of drops of Dawn in your carpet cleaning water will clean beautifully and take the odor out.

Rinse and Clean........

Maybe the fix would be to let us drain our gray water at the rest stop right on the ground......you know for a good "clean and rinse".

I was just teasing, the horse barn smell was coming from the foam backed headliner, once I got it all out the smell disappeared. But thanks for the recipe though, I might try it once or twice before I rip the carpet out and replace with some broom friendly flooring.

Friendly and disgusting warning

What the general public doesn't know is that the driver turnover at major truck lines is about 80% a year, with many companies exceeding 100%.

The era of the "professional driver" is past. This era has faded into history replaced with the products of government funded (grants and loans) driver production mills. (I.e. Driving schools)

The good drivers have been over run by transient drivers.

Turnover is not the fault of the drivers. Blame shippers, receivers and trucking companies along with the various government agencies who can pull a driver over and write them numerous expensive tickets on a whim. The shippers and receivers treat drivers like dog excrement and have unrealistic expectations of shipping/delivery dates and times. I've been there. I know.

Truckers pissing into jugs is nothing new, it's been like that for years and years. Take a walk in a truckstop parking lot on a warm day and take a huge whiff. That aroma isn't coming from that load of roses in that truck.

Don't forget the pay structure. They are paid by the mile. Not very much pay either. You are gone away from home for weeks at a time and get no regular sleep. Then after driving all night to make that 3 am appointment, they make the driver unload the truck by himself. I put up with it for just over 3 years and never looked back. Horrible way to earn a living.

For what it is worth Mr. Prez, I agree with you near 100%, except that on average, drivers are more nasty and indifferent than they used to be because most with dignity move on to jobs that are treated with more dignity.
