My dad would call them "rubbers" as I became a teenager I was dying inside!

Nonetheless, I started this for those green, unseasoned Airstreamers who might not be in the know. I have known about this forever; as travel season revs up, I thought newbys would appreciate an alert to something they never encountered, especially, those with kids, pets, and those who wear shoes and not galoshes and hazmat pants!

I really hate to bring this up, but we might as well get it all out in the open. The world is covered with urine and feces. Every living animal (as far as I know) eliminates the waste products of the oxidation of their energy sources into and upon the environment around them. The next time you step or sit outdoors, and to a very slightly lesser degree indoors, The odds are very high you are stepping or sitting on the decaying residue of some lesser (in human opinion) organism's pee or poop. For some reason we choose to find the waste products of our own species to be more disgusting. I think it is perhaps that we realize that we humans eat so much unhealthy junk, that our waste products are way more toxic than other animals that eat natural foods.

Now as far as peeing in a bottle, I definitely condone that practice. What with reduced state budgets and other various reasons, rest areas with a designated place to relieve oneself are becoming very scarce. The problem lies in where some choose to empty or otherwise dispose of the containers. I wish we Americans would get rid of our disgust for people who pee alongside the highway. At least then it is sufficiently dispersed.

Have a whiz fest on the side of the highway all you like.... just don't pee where people have to step in the puddles on the way to the flush toilets!

What did I say that sounded like I thought that was a good place to pee? Unfortunately a post on Airforums is not going to change what people do with their urine. I AM saying that just because you don't see something doesn't mean the area is pee free. People step in pee residue all the time, it just doesn't happen to be obvious. The real answer was already mentioned earlier. Don't wear your outside shoes inside and watch where you put your feet.

Howard Hughes did the same thing. So, what's the difference? 6.2 billion dollars.

Especially during the dry season.

Howard Hughes dumped a bottle of pee in a rest area parking lot? I figure he'd just dump it in one of his employees' pockets.

I thought he kept it in jars, saved it for some reason, but we digress from the topic at hand.

I think we're pretty much on topic. You've made me curious. I will have to research that.

Maybe there should be "stations" at rest areas where you can drop off your accumulation and not just pour it out. I'm sure truckers aren't the only ones doing this. It would keep the ground cleaner.

Hope this doesn't stretch the thread too far but they have a product called 'squattie pottie' so women can enjoy the same benefits as men, or so the site claims. They can even use a bottle... or jug

Don't pick up pop bottles along the road which look like they're full. They are the 'in flight' urine bombs from truckers and others....

Our dog pretty much pees where she squats, except inside the Airstream, or next to the BBQ grill.

I guess y'all are too young to know about relief tubes in airplanes. Where do you think all that goes while flying around?
