Freestyling?

Have you ever been on a road trip to somewhere, and it's getting late, you are tired of driving, and you just want to pull off and stop til morning? The weather is agreeable, and you don't need hook ups (we are pulling Airstreams ).

If you are in the Des Moines area (yeah, I know, who goes there?) I may have a spot for you. In the town of Monroe, I have about 5 acres of flat mowed grass field that you are welcome to camp on, right along hwy 163 (Avenue of the Saints) Did I mention, FREE?

Also, if you need electricity, I have a pad at my house that could be available.

Nice offer! We offer similar here in the Sandhills of NC. I have had a few people take advantage over the years.

BTW my grandparents lived in Monroe. I believe their house went away when they widened one of the main roads. They both taught at the local high school back in 60's.

Now that is very interesting because I went to Monroe High in the early '60s. I graduated in '65. I probably knew your grandparents. Small world, isn't it.

Yes it is!

Their last name was Whaley. Grandma taught Home Ec and Grandpa taught Industrial Arts and Drafting.

I remember a Lilian Whaley, who taught Home Ec, but by the time I got into the shop class, the teacher was not named Whaley. (No I did not take Home Ec.)

Aaron (Wahoonc), it's a small world after all! Our neighbors' two doors up here in Ohio last name is Whaley! Perhaps a distant relative of yours.
