To help celebrate our Nation's 150th Birthday, the federal government is allowing anyone from any country to visit and stay at any federal nation park in 2017 -
this year you can get free access to over 140 National parks, Conservation areas and more in Canada .
Simply get your free pass from their web site or go to any MEC ( Mountain equipment CO-OP) store or participating CIBC bank branch
www.parkscanada.gc.ca
Note: Access is free, camping fees still apply

A great deal for Americans, especially given current exchange rates.
Canadian national parks are also dog-friendly with regard to the trail systems.
Provincial parks are still charging full entrance fees, just in case that matters to anyone.

I know that you mean " full camping fees" as our provincial parks don't have entry fees. At least not here in BC.

Right on BC & Alberta, but -- there are day-use (entrance) fees for provincial parks in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, and possibly other provinces. These aren't expensive, but just to point out the difference between a national & provincial park. In the US people sometimes don't realize that their seniors or annual park pass aren't good at state parks.

Canadian Federal Parks Entrance Free 2017
2017 marks Canada's 150th birthday as a nation.
The Canadian Federal Government operate various historic parks and RV campsites of many kinds and sizes, in every province in Canada from coast to coast. This year to celebrate Canada's birthday, entrance (only) is free, no charge whatsoever.
Camping in any of these parks is not free as usual camping charges apply.
Book soon as demand this year is heavy as you would expect!

Got mine! I don't think I will use it, most places I go are provincial parks. But you never know.

My candidate is Bruce Peninsula National Park,(nee Cyprus Lake Park) in Ontario.
If you are into Hiking, the Bruce Trail goes right through it, and the rocky terrain is spectacular.
In early summer, the water in Georgian Bay can be cold and invigorating.
Later on, it warms up.

Got ours too!
Going to Novato, ca for a Trick Dog Seminar with our English Springer, Wife said, Hey Canada is not that much further (from Los Angeles) and we can get a FREE National Parks pass to boot! Wouldn't that be a great "first step" for out trip to Alaska in 2 years??
Well we will be in Canada for the month of July, 2017. Looking forward to it. Got our reservations already for the entire trip. Starting in Banff/Lake Louise then a counter clockwise loop back to Vancouver.
CAN'T WAIT!!!

Out our way, these would be Jasper, Banff, and Waterton Lakes national parks, in the Canadian Rockies. Waterton Lakes is just over the border from Glacier NP so the two parks together make a nice visit.
Closer to you would be the Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario, if you enjoy canoeing.
