Found homeless

thought I'd start a thread on Airstreams found along the highway that are or appear to be available. No connection to the seller(s) or owner(s), just hot poop for those who are looking!! Moderators, slap me down if this ought to go elsewhere...

This 29' Ambassador is in pretty good shape, but I couldn't check the appliances. The $10.5K price might be a little high...

Overlander 27' Lehi UT

here's a 27' Overlander in Lehi, UT. Storage area is a block north of Main St exit off of I-15 and it can be seen (quickly) from the southbound lanes of I-15. The last registration (if I read the license plate correctly) was in 2001. It was hard to see through the windows, but it looked in reasonable shape inside. The red stains on the outside look like rust, but it's probably red Utah dirt that's gotten ingrained in the clearcoat.

Great Idea for a Thread!

Zep,
Great idea for a thread! Now we can act on our discoveries without dragging them home ourselves.

How was the skin on the Ambassador 29' in El Paso? It looks pretty good in the pictures.

clearcoat is failing in the same way it does on all trailers of this age. I noticed only general corrosion, although I didn't look close. I don't recall significant pits. I do recall that it has an 8-track tape, so for all you nostalgia buffs, go get it!

if there is high interest, I can go by and check it again in July. Let me know via PM.

Hey Led! Great start for a new thread. But as to the condition of so many AS 's found by the road perhaps the thread should be called.....

Not exactly homeless, but being used as a storage shed. Obvious bad damage to the rear top street side. I am very confused--looks old but only has a 5-panel curve in the top. Never have seen this kind of window installation--what gives?

This AS is near the Central Ferry campground along the Snake River in WA.

This one looks to have been used as the Office in a small RV park, also near Central Ferry in WA. I think it has been replaced by an SOB that's outside the frame, so maybe it's available. (exact locations available via PM, if anyone is interested)

For Sale in WA

Saw this Sovereign along route 19 south out of Port Townsend. Really really orange inside, with a wide open floor plan. Posted at $7900 and cell phone of 379-9100. Just a little too rich for me, but shell is in good shape. Did I say really orange inside? Notice that the owner saved the fridge vent hood.

All photos taken from outside. If you press the lens up against the glass and shade it, you can sometimes see better what's inside than you can with the eye.

It is a 1960 TradeWind with twins & bunks, thus the small stacked windows. Not the hammock-type of bunks, but built-in ones.

Dead giveaway it's a 1960 trailer is that cool Land Yacht label, I think it was only used that one year.

There was a similar layout at the RMVAC a couple of years ago, but it was an Overlander instead. Check this out, the model numbers match although there aren't any pics of this configuration.

For sale in OR

This beauty was on the side of highway 140 south of Klamath Falls and just east of 97. Ran into it (figuratively) on the way to the International, so others must have seen it, also. Who bought it??!!

Phone was listed as 541-601-9100--a 1949 Globetrotter. Isn't this a little long for a Globetrotter?

Looks like a 60 Tradewind with bunks. Unusual configuration, but I don't know how desirable it is.

It's desirable to me, I need some parts. If one had a place and the energy to repair that rear end damage, one would have a nice trailer. Although I may be a bit partial to these Trade Wind's. Pix of the interior would be nice. A-hem.

a-hem yourself! No one was home so I was walking on eggshells as it was. Besides, it's now 1,000+ miles away. Wait till next year, I'll get you the title. sheesh.

seriously, it had become a storage shed, from what I could see through the open door.

Exactly location available if interested (PM me)
