Where is my camera when I need it?
Sited one 73 Ambassador I think 27ft(tag was covered) Gutted and made into a consession trailer. sited at the Darke County Fair /Greenville,Ohio
Exterior was in excellent shape. Only a few things remained Roof (Vent)fans,AC,Converter console mounted above the front window and the Stool only Tub had been removed. The Exterior was shiny and made it a stand-out

Argosy minuet on ebay

This seems like a decent Argosy Minuet on eBay

1979 Airstream Argosy Minuet 6.7

Item number: 120153829937

The For sale locally means contact me now and buy it without the auction hassles.

spotted at Kenolie Village Campground in southern Vermont (near Newfane and Brattleboro) one 1974 Argosy in apparantly decent shape. interior floor is only a year or so old, nice parquet wood flooring. a tree crushed the back endcap, but it seems like it should be repairable. it might possibly be available for "a song".

What the heck are these? The top one has a 9-panel tail and 13-panel front.

OK, I will guess, a tandem axle Flying Cloud. Special order and very unique.

They are also known as a Dutchman's Cap along with the Whale Tail name. Where did you find these Zep?

Thanks to Zeppelinium

Everyone needs to thank Zeppelinium for their time and energy invested in their research. These are great trailers; good price for most of them too. Any of these could be a fun project for the do-it-yourselfer or an easy addition to a collector or a startup for a curious beginner like myself. Thanks Zeppelinium!

One's in central Nevada and the other is in SW Colorado. I hope to get more information in the next couple of weeks.

Hi Zep:

The top trailer looks like a 1955 California built 22' Flying Cloud with the double bed interior layout. The red lens on the license plate light was used mostly in 1955, so that me tells me its a 1955 model. The bottom Airstream looks like a 1954 to 1957 California built 26' Overlander, probably toward the later years with the teardrop wheel well opening. Very nice!

Thanks, Fred. Here's a shot of the side of the one you think is 22'. I think it's longer, but for the life of me I can't recall the number of axles. At the time I was thinking one, but it looks too long.

She's a 1956 Cruiser/Overlander. In fact, I think they both are, one's a tandem, and this one's a single axle.

1956Overlander2

(picture is from vintageairstream.com)

the big question (for the single, anyway) is she california or ohio?

Hi Zep:

Thanks for some perspective. Yup, she's an Overlander too. Guess I was just being short-sighted in my first guess. Great pair of O's.

very excellent sleuthing, Gentlemen. I thought it might be a single axle, but it just seemed too long.

Smaller I think...

I really think the bottom trailer is smaller than 26'. Note, only one window
on the curb side and if you use the substitution method of theoretically placing the window multiple times in succession it comes out closer to 22' than 26'.

I'll go check on it tomorrow. Hopefully the gate will be open and I can get a closer look.

AirstreamGypsy: If you can get access, see if you can also get a serial number off it. That would really help in identification. Thanks!

Fred, the one with the differing end caps is serial 6557. No other numbers. The WBCCI number looks like 3866 or 3886.
