I"M BACK..... In ILLINOIS

I told Karen Indiana first... apparently my head isn't quite as hard as I thought. But it's bad because there is also a Mt Vernon in IN... I have a somewhat nasty "hang em high" mark on my neck where the seat belt slipped up and restrained me. My head fought the drivers side window, and my head won. The poor schlep behind me who saw the whole thing practically walked up to the truck carrying a barf bag in anticipation of the gore. Seemed to be pleased to see me in one piece though. I got few pinprick cuts from flying glass, something hit me on the side of the head - I think my cell phone, which we found in the grass. I gotta tell you, plastic water bottles may be horrible for the environemnt, but good to get hit with.

Heading out to the A/s now. All ok, Insurance can fix.

paula

Paula, so sorry to hear what has happened, but very thankful that you are going to be okay. While we love our AS's, that can all be replaced, but you cannot! Only wish I were closer, to be able to help out.
Take care of yourself first, the rest will come.
A big thank you to your sister, for letting us all know.

Paula,

Please feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do for you, especially if in the northern half of Ohio.

Good to hear from you, Paula.

Seems to me you just got new insurance! Yikes! How fortuitous.

Take care of yourself, and keep us posted.

Thank God you are OK and survived this terrible experience. I have experienced a similar situation except was able to control the trailer and stopped on the side of the Fwy. Wish you a speedy recovery.

Glad to see you back! Best wishes for a quick recovery and that all the financials work out. Luckily stuff is just stuff. I had a rollover years ago (not with a trailer) and found the mental recovery took a lot longer than the physical one. Glad you're ok!

If I recall, sometime back, you were saying, "If I ever decide to get rid of this 25 footer…"!

Out of this pile of manure, good, will sprout (think, at least a 28 footer). I'm sure of it! ;-)

HAVE A FULL AND SPEEDY RECOVERY…both physically, as well a mentally!

Tonight when PrudencePB, (Karen) gets here we'll take some pictures of the A/S. You're gonna bulbitate when you see the mess. front wrap windows are all gone, the 3 segments are origami, the entire roadsite went into the ditch and issomewhat misshapen, and two rear streetside panels are toast though how that happened is anyone's guess. The rear door operated flawlessly.
The refrigerator tore loose as did the entire kitchen cabinet. The liquor locker had no broken bottles. The closet door was ripped half off, every detergent - dish, hair or clothing had the bottle rend itself open and baptized everything that flew around. The shower delaminated the color off the fiberglass it torqued so badly, but the door didn't break - wierd. The bedroom has been through a Wareing blender. ( I did find my "stash of cash" - whew).

- da fertilizer dun impacted da ventilator big time.

People in small towns are NICE. The tow truck driver took me from the hospital back to the RV so I could get clothing to wear today. The hotel people found the last room in town for me. I lost my glasses, but fount an optical shop that made me a new pair of glasses from my ancient "third pair" that was too awful to even give to the Lions club, but ended up as the last backup pair in the bottom of the truck. Hey if you live in South Central Illinois, come here to Marco Optical -4121 S Water Tower Ste. B, Mt Vernon, Il (($64.50 for frames and lenses which INDCLUDED a $25 rush fee! Do you believe it! They'll mail in the USA for $3. I may avail myself of their services in future}}

Now I must nap and then call insurance companies.

Paula

Glad you are well enough to be classified as the walking wounded, Paula.

When you post the photos of your damaged trailer, I think many of us will find that traumatizing. The Airstream lifestyle invites emotionalization: nostalgia, security, escapism, reconnecting spiritually with one's soul and family etc. When it is taken away so violently, some would have a hard time wrapping their psyche around that.

I don't think I would be handling it as well as you appear to be. Admire your spunk!

True, FAN, and my first thought---after the details of the trailer condition were posted---- was "what if she'd had a pet riding in there!".

You will be in our prayers as the next few days can be difficult once the adrenaline wears off (as well as other medications). Your are always such an inspiration to those of us who plan on fulltiming some day. Many times good comes out of bad circumstances. Several months from now you will be enjoying your newer Airstream and this will be just a bad dream.

Paula,
Phyllis and I are sorry to hear about your accident. Fortunately it sounds as though you are in one piece thank goodness. We're out west for the next couple of months. Our thoughts will be with you.
