Our prayers are for a complete and speedy recovery, hopefully nothing more than bumps and bruises. And thanks go out to a caring sister, and all of you on the forum that are reaching out to her in what ever way you can.

Sad news. I wish you a speedy recovery (physically and financially) and hope that this does not dampen your travel spirit Paula. I guess you could say your holiday was "FOILED AGAIN".

This is what I would do. Anything you can't fit into the box trailer, should be able to find a storage unit in Mt. Vernon where non-essentials could be left til she has a new rig and can retrieve them.

A PIA, but she doesn't want to leave things in a junkyard where mice and perhaps rats can take up residence.

Paula's a smart girl, and I'm sure she has thought of all of this. I just have this hard-wired need to offer suggestion and try to fix things.

She is in Southern Illinois. If we were home, we would hop on 57 and go down to help. However, we are in Iowa and headed west. Missed her disaster by about 12 hours.

Give her a hug for me when you see her, and remind her this is one of those hard bumps in the road of life. It will pass.

I'll follow this and jump in if I think I have anything to offer.

I talked with Paula this morning. She is out of the hospital. Said was in for observation to determine if she had whiplash. Said trailer was totaled. It rolled and everyting inside broke loose. Her sister will be in today to help her retrieve her stuff. She said the truck was damaged; said it broke a tie rod or had a flat tire and that caused the chain of events for the accident. One observation she made was that she would slow down when she gets back on the road. She said she saw the trailer with the wheels on one side up off the highway as she tried to gently pull back on the pavement. She said she accelerated and tried to apply the trailer brakes, but could not regain control.
