Flowers in July
I was hoping someone might have some suggestions on where we might see flowers on our Pacific NW/Canadian Rockies trip. Here is a general outline of our route; leave AR drive to KC,Ks take I-70 to Arches NP then up to Salt Lake City across to Reno over to Redwood NP then up coast to Portland over to Mt. Rainier NP to Olympic NP to Victoria to Vancouver to Banff/Jasper NP down to Glacier NP to Yellowstone NP over to Badlands NP then home. The only place that I have seen information on flowers are Arches NP and Mt. Rainier NP. Sorry if this is a bit unclear.
Thanks in advance,
Greg

Cameron,
Thanks for the suggestions, do you know if any of the national parks will have wildflowers blooming that time of year?
Thanks,
Greg

There is always something blooming in the parks, but I can't specifically say what or when. This site may be useful:
E-Flora BC: An Electronic Atlas of the Plants of British Columbia.

Also, here is a link to a really good book that I have and enjoy:
Plants of Coastal British Columbia - Lone Pine Publishing
Lone Pine Publishing has some really excellent guides to plants that you might like to look at.

The Colorado high county (9k and above) flowers bloom in late June early July. Get off the interstate unhook the Airstream and find any forest service road that gains elevation, roll down the window and follow your nose. Find a nice spot, set down with a bottle of wine and some good cheese, and savor the sights and sounds of nature.
