Florida to Chicago with layovers in the Smokies

We're on the road currently, last weekend we spent it in the Smokies. If you're going thru, you should stop in Cherokee and have breakfast at a place called Pete's Pancake House. It's amazing!

After our first night in Cherokee we drove into the Smokies to hike up Clingmans Dome

Thought I'd share some of my favorite photos.

Cool

From there we where going to go hike Grotto Falls, well..... get there early! The parking lot was over flowing, and by the time we found a spot to pull over from the trail head, it must of been a mile away. And we didn't feel like hiking it with the young one.

So we drove a little further and found some other interesting finds.

Cool

Friday night we drove to Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Kentucky. The park and falls are beautiful.

Is the trailer on the road or still being fixed?

It's on the road, but we haven't decided on flooring yet, so plywood it is. I will have to post some more when we get some better internet. Right now I need to reserve my uploads for work. We're having a blast though. Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg are really nice, if not a bit touristy.

Ok... First, Thanks for the great photos.

I noticed the title Florida to Chicago. I live in Orlando and Chicago so it caught my eye. I've been enjoying the photos... but now you're in Florida? Just kind of caught my eye. Florida, Smokies, Florida ??? Thanks again for the photos. Your baby is a cute as can be... safe travels.

There and back again, for business. Left on a Thursday, arrived in Cherokee, NC, Fri smokies, Sat in Kentucky, from there drove to Chicago Sun, stayed Mon-Thursday, drove to Pigeon Forge on Friday, Sat in the Smokies, then back to Florida on Sun. Make sense now.

Your trip could be an inspiration for a trip to Boston for a cup of clam chowder... or a trip to New Orleans for some Jambalaya... Kansas City for a steak... We should start a list. Thanks for sharing.
