Good luck, seriously. I just spent the better part of this AM scouring Reserve America & FL camp books & still not able to reserve some of the places we'd like to camp at down here in Oct/Nov. Many Halloween events & things like Food & Wine festivals going on since the weather isn't so hot & humidity is slightly better now. Just don't get discouraged.

Think U should try Travelers Rest resort. Mid state but nice place Exit 293 off 75 and 2 miles off the road. Dade city area. Look it up on the net.

I am at Gamble Rogers right now, site 23 Oceanside. Everything is up and running except the beach is closed -- allegedly opening tomorrow. Lots of empty sites last night...

By all means, get the AllStays app - the best $10 you will ever spend.

We like Tokoma State Park in Ormond Beach. Try Blue Springs State Park by Deland.

The Ocala National Forest campgrounds never seem crowded and are a bargain.

Use Allstays to check out the county parks. These fly under the radar.

When you get near the Fort Lauderdale area, location is the key!! Its not fancy up front but in the rear, you can park waterside with an 80' yacht directly on the New River and canals. YachtHaven RV Park and Marina is just off I-95 at the Marina Mile exit just north of the Ft. Lauderdale airport. They have short term stay spots for now but will fill up in November with Canadians.

As of tonight, there are 3 Airstreams in the park. 2 motorhomes and 1 new Classic trailer.

Well after a couple of overnight Walmart stays in OH and SC on Fri/Sat night, we finally made it to Florida.

Thanks for the recommendation.....I tied Anastasia State Park one last time after they were previously booked and what do you know they had a site come open. We are here until Wed night and will then be moving to the Melbourne area.

Overnight in SC

Try Hanna Park near Jacksonville. We enjoyed there last winter.

Another vote for the Allstays app.

This looked very interesting so we called to book for Sat night for 4 nights. Plenty of spots open but no dogs over 20lbs :-( that rules us out as we have two medium sized dogs.

Hi everyone, thanks again for all the great tips so I wanted to provide a bit of an update.

We had extended out stay at Anastasia SP until the weekend.

We moved from there to T.Y. Park in Hollywood/Ft Lauderdale area. TY Park was very nice for city camping (massive park and the RV sites are in the back). Cheap rates for a nice camping spot. The RV sites are located near a tri-rail track but we never heard the train once inside the Airstream although a train came once an hour during daylight, we were concerned since we had the closest spot to the tracks but it wasn't even an issue.

We are now at John Pennekamp SP in Key Largo. First impressions are its nice but tight spots (neighbors are very close). Cell signal is a total bust here!!!!!! Have I mentioned we work remotely (hard to do with little or no signal). We limped through today and I have overnighted us a Weboost (thanks Amazon $10 next day fee), hope that help for the next couple of days or we need to move.

Zero Airstream's at any of the locations we've stayed so far.

What cell carrier do you have? Pennecamp isn't as remote as the other state parks in the keys. It surprises there is not a decent signal.

AT&T. I spend most of the morning yesterday driving around the parking looking for a better signal....there wasn't one :-(

On a positive note I picked up our WeBoost today thanks to Amazon's $10 next day delivery and USPS "General Delivery" (yep, I Googled it). The WeBoost is working great. I purchased the Drive 4G-X model along with an AC adaptor and 4 sleeves of Nespresso pods but that's another blog.

With the WeBoost I went from 600kps download with 4G and a single bar to now we are getting 12mps downloads with 4G LTE and 3 bars. The only downside I've seen so far is the internal WeBoost antenna has about a 2-3 foot range before the signal erodes quickly (15 ft away diminishes the effects of the WeBoost entirely). Good thing with our setup is we use MiFi hotspots into a more powerful wireless router so only our phones are really effected.

Thanks for this update, and glad you had some improvement. You have probably read the following thread (and others on the issue), but I am wondering if you might want to post your feedback there as well:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f451...er-156033.html

We need to boost our cell signal also, and are in the process of finding an answer.

Thanks, and hope the rest of your trip goes well.

Peter

PS -- Here is another relevant thread, and that sub-forum's list of topics for general information:

Florida suggestions (the Atlantic side) - Post Hurricane

A short break from the Airstream and the dogs. Dogs in a kennel and we're in a hotel.

We moved last Sun near Key West to Bluewater RV Resort spot 50. This is place nice, really nice but PRICEY!!! We have an ocean side spot with our own private dock. Online we wanted an ocean side spot but getting here we have found that all the spots are nice even if not on the ocean. All the spots include their own Tiki Hut. The spots are very similar compared to each other but the Tiki Hut vary widely and some are amazing. We are happy with our normal Hut and private dock.

We had another Airstream arrive today, the 2nd we have seen on this trip. I didn't get a chance to meet them but will seek them out tomorrow.

Our spot and a bottle of Airstream Ale

Thanks for the great photos. Could you define "pricey" for us? Have you been finding it difficult to locate more reasonably priced CG's due to the "high season" approaching? Thanks.

Yep that's pricey for us! We actually got it a little cheaper and are paying $155 +$20 per might in tax for a combined $175 per night.
