I am looking for information about campgrounds, rv parks in the Tavares, Mount Dora, Leesburg area of Florida. Some places have beautiful webpage and mediocre reviews. Any incite would be appreciated.

I live in Mount Dora, therefore I have not camped nearby.
My In-Laws have camped the last several winters at Wekiva Falls RV Resort just this side of Sanford and really rave about the place. But now there’s a big road project going on that will make getting in and out of the entrance road problematic.
If I were to choose a local campground here it would be Olde Mill Stream RV Resort in Umatilla. They’ve recently expanded, so half of it has tree canopy, the other half is big sky.
Fisherman’s Cove RV Park in Tavares is okay if you’re not fussy. It’s wide open, and from what I understand the ‘regulars’ get priority for the choice sites.

First off, welcome to the Forums. We're lad to have you with us. We have a son in Dade City and have camped in that area many times. Starting at this time of year, Central Florida is pretty much awash in snowbirds. It is some times hard to get a couple of nights stay anywhere in that area. There are a few of the campgrounds that keep a couple of sites available for short term campers. In the winter in that part of Florida, you pretty much have to take what you can get as many of the campsites are reserved a year in advance.
