What a great thread. In the category of "really offbeat, odd, but still pretty cool", I have a single cell AA Tiffany & Co. penlight with a key chain in sterling silver. I guess to read menus. It does not go camping.

And here I thought I was one of the very few with the madness. Is it coupled with Airstream aluminumitus or a stand alone thing?

It was a gift, pre-Airstream, from an older friend of ours whose husband passed away. It belonged to her husband, Al, who was a real character. In addition to the Tiffany penlight, he also carried a black pepper grinder about the size of a film canister with him to restaurants. "Nothing like fresh ground pepper".

I must admit that I am also addicted to flashlights and have been all my life. I always have at least one small LED flashlight on my person. My pride and joy is my Fentix TK35 which has a maximum output of 862 lumen, which is amazing for a light that is only six inches long and weighs six ounces.

The apple does not fall far from the tree. All four of our sons also have deep love of flashlights. Our oldest grandson, who has just turned three, sleeps with his favorite every night.

This is the pocket light that I have been using for the last several years. It is a Rocky brand. I got it as a premium when I purchased a package of two larger Rocky flashlights at Sam's. It is the best pocket flashlight that I have ever owned. It puts out an amazing amount of light for its size, and has great battery life. This little guy is my constant companion.

I LOVE THAT. "manisfaction". It makes me want to make Tim Taylor ape noises.

Watch it, your roll as moderator might be questioned if you make TT ape noises.

What battery does it use? Looks good but appears a little larger than I was thinking about.

Well I am sitting here laughing and shaking my head!!
This explains everything!
My husband just brought home another light treasure...an AlphaTAC Extreme Beam.
I even had to go outside the other night for a demo. Yup! It really beams out there!
We have so many flashlights I can't begin to get a tally!
It is all good. I know we are prepared!
Thanks for this delightful insight!
