First set up

I am not sure where to post this question. We are going on our first Airstream trip in a 2014 International and I was wondering if anyone has made a check list of what to check before driving off into the wild blue yonder. Also is there a check list for when you are about to leave the campsite?

There is probably a check list somewhere here on the forums.

There are lots of ways to break things on an Airstream when you are getting ready to leave on a trip or leaving a campsite.

Dont' ever raise or lower the tongue jack with the stablizers down. I also put the entry door step up prior to raising or lowering the tongue jack since I have a rear entry door model and it can catch an obstacle when raising the tongue.

Make sure you chock your trailer wheels before unhitching from the tow vehicle. You don't want to have the trailer roll away from you when it comes off the tow vehicle.

Make sure your TV swing arm is latched down. I also have a Velcro strap around mine. (
Put the TV antenna down before leaving. (
Latch the pantry door if you have a slide out pantry. (happened to me)

Close the roof vents while towing unless you have those external rain proof covers.

Check all cabinets are closed and secure.

Make sure fridge gas has turned on after unplugging from shore power. I always stick my head in the lower vent to visually confirm there is a flame.

Turn water pump off while towing.

Unplug the water and electricity before pulling away from a campsite.

Make sure the hitch pin is in the receiver, safety chains, electric connections are working and WDH safety pins are in place.

I Googled " Airstream check list". Several pages of hits.

This looks like a good thread,

Dealer included checklist with trailer (found inside a drawer).

Since they also sell motorhomes, this one made me laugh: "Is your spouse in the back or did you forget him/her at campground?"
