One of the Service Advisors here at the dealer and his wife offered to let us come to their house and shower or whatever. If you are ever in the area, Tillery Chevrolet in Moriarty, NM is the place to go. Only Chevy dealer between Amarillo and Albuquerque. Our fresh water tank is 60% full and we should have enough room in the black and gray tanks. We have been trying to use the dealer's facilities when they are open and we have full use of a loaner car. Could be a lot worse. We're going to the local museums tomorrow.
Seems as though you are making the best of a tough situation. Tough situations sometimes bring out the best in people and it sounds as though you are dealing with some good people.

Wishing the best and that you be on the road shortly!

Wow, started reading this thread thinking how jealous I was not being in Ouray. We spend four nights in Amphitheater CG 20 yrs ago, with the pop up and three kids. We loved it. Then I got to the part about the fuel pump and injectors. That's a rough one. Hope they got you fixed and on the road. I used to think I wanted a diesel, but backed off after my son bought a 6.0 Powerstroke. I guess the new ones are very nice, and so are some of the early 2000s. $65K is a big investment.
I hope the rest of your trip is smooth sailing. You deserve it!

Wow ... Sounds like an "adventure" of the wrong type. When you finally get to Ouray, though, and get unhitched and actually relax, it will all be worth it. We're heading up that way next summer, so the planning has already begun -- I've bookmarked all of the campsites mentioned in the thread.

Hang in there and enjoy the trip! Always nice to see some fellow Metroplex Airstreamers post on here ...

We've been in Ouray since Monday and the weather has been beautiful. So much better than the heat at home. Every time we come to Ouray my allergies go into overdrive. Went to the doctor in Ridgeway on Weds and got a steroid shot, so I'm doing better. AS has been trouble free and the tv is finally sorted out. It has a Banks 6-gun tuner on it and the dealer disconnected everything so I had to get everything hooked back up. I installed it ten years ago and had to call Banks to find out how to reconnect the MAF sensor.

With the exception of spotty Wi-Fi, the park has been great. Everyone camped around us is from Texas and they have been coming here for over 20 years. We met a couple of Airstreamers at the park in Durango and they showed up here for a day on Tues. They were from Denver and had a '14 25FB. They were headed to Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

Went to Box Canyon yesterday and plan on heading to Cascade Falls this afternoon and Yankee Boy Basin tomorrow. The flowers in Yankee Boy are reported to be spectacular.

Sounds good! Glad you are really enjoying it out there. I'm headed out Friday, but will be on a motorcycle this trip, but back there the last week in Aug with the AS..
We went over Imogene and Ophir passes when we were there. The flowers on Ophir were amazing.

We've been in Ouray for over a week and no more surprises. TV is behaving and the AS has been flawless. We took the hitch off the tv yesterday and went to Yankee Boy Basin. For a big long truck, the tv did great. It has really gotten crowded on the jeep roads since our last visit 6 years ago. Everyone has an ATV of some kind and they are everywhere. We are staying until Monday and hate to think about the heat at home.

I'm really glad to see your post. Glad you are enjoying Colorado! I'm leaving tomorrow. 100 degrees expected here for departure. I may not come back until this heat breaks. Ha!
Nice pics!

There was a gap in the story.

Did you have to replace the injectors?

Yes, all injectors replaced. Now my #6 glow plug is setting a code, but hey, I've got 7 more that are still working!

There's an FJ in the park. Every inch of glass has a decal on it!
