First Foray in our '84 Sovereign

Well, after 3 years of talking...

1 year of browsing...

6 months of hands-on looking...

...and a fortunate find from a fabulous family...

We bought our first Airstream 6 weeks ago. A 1984 Sovereign.

We have cleaned (although it was already in GREAT shape), serviced tires, breaks, systems, a test "pull" through the neighborhood.

We think we're ready. We're off - with our dogs - to a beach campground two hours from home (only has water hook-ups) for two days.

What's the one thing you wish you knew before you went out the first time? Any thoughts, advice, suggestions, or funny story would be appreciated.

Perhaps I'll even start blogging our experience - it was certainly an experience getting this far!

Howdy, akirkbride! Welcome to airforums, and glad to hear you got yourselves a nice new-to-you trailer!

The one thing I wish I had known was how easy it would be to pull (when properly set up). I drove in a panic for the first hundred mile or so, until I realized that it was actually an easy thing to do.

Now, howsabout a pile of photos? We Want PICTURES! Inside and out! LOL!

I know my husband is quite anxious about the pull - I'll be sure to pass along your experience to him...maybe he'll relax a little!

Thank you Aage! ...and, yes, photos will be had by all when we return!

If I'd known how much it was I'd have started years ago!

Congratulations on the rig and best of luck on your first adventure.

Send a postcard or two will you?

Kevin
