Also enjoyed space and rocket museum (got in free as we are members of local science museum - surprisingly this gave us free access)

My 3 year old loved all the rockets and such

Looking back, seems like your wait time flew. What a beautiful unit. I would be terrified pulling that long...but do hope that's my next size, we have grandkids!

I notice that the Dear Wife (DW) is tall enough that the "Watch your head" sign over the door of the NASA Airstream is entirely appropriate. Will you be getting one for your trailer?

I also note she's wearing a Frankenboot due to some kind of foot injury. Kicked your keester too hard, did she?

Sure looks like a fun trip and so thankful everything went well! Have fun! We have about a 2 1/2 month wait before we take delivery on ours! Can't wait!

Happy for you! As much as you researched the AS, you deserve to enjoy it. Take it slow, every trip is an adventure. Jim

The length for the most part has not bothered me too much....only advice that was given to me that I will CONFIRM here is that you will reduce stress significantly if you can plan out where you stop and get gas and/or eat...driving down the road in this long combo aint a big deal for me at all...very comfortable...but pulling into places without assurance that there is a clear path in and out of a gas station, parking lot, restaurant is a bit stressful...my wife got a bit ancy with my insisting on absolutely there must be a clear exit path for me to turn in there or no way jose!!! My advice is to look for stops ahead of time and perhaps use google earth...then just enjoy execution and certainty....but even as such without much planning and sticking to my guns on that subject, it was no big deal.

I feel the slightly more stressful thing is not as much about length but width...some of the narrow roads on the way up the mountain to the park were a tad anxiety producing...but not bad...the campground paved road was apparently just wide enough for my wheel base :O

We parked at a truck stop in falkville AL off hwy 65 - "Loves" - parked in the truck parking, went into grab a bite there...saw a guy in a big 5th wheel gas up in the regular pumps and make a crazy tight turn in those pumps (you know the ones perpendicular to the gas station...whew..that was crazy...dude barely had clearance...TT would not have made that turn I reckon...

backing the 30 at our campsite was easy for me...first attempt at approach I had wrong path...second attempt was successfull...wife is a pretty good backer so far...

well, we are not from AL, so its not like we are per se huge fans yet...but we have a tendency for Alabama...so a bit more of the "ROLL TIDE" tradition is building I guess...

What an amazing game it was! I was rooting for AL so was heartbroken when that FG was returned...I honestly did not see that coming! would rather have lost in OT

Kudos to Auburn for that win....it ruined a good buzz though a bit

Protag - no head bumps...so far...there is some cusion as I recall on the spot at entrance into our AS - this one the astronaughts used - that appears to be another story...we will probably wait for a head injury for signage...hope she dont sue me

Her boot is temporary...she had a small fracture in her foot a month or so ago...should be soon off...my coccyx is in tact so no problems there

There is a book available called Next Exit - lists all interstate exits and what is there; and if RV friendly in red. Very handy to keep in TV.
