I was hoping otherwise as there would be potential liability there. Nonetheless, is there any history of fires with these units?—two of them too close together arcing perhaps. Assuming there's a deductible on your insurance, you want someone to make a claim against for that.

AFter looking at the pictures, I don't think it was a standard fire. I am thinking something like a road flare. The reason I am thinking that is the fact that the light cover melted (you can see it hanging alsmost completely gone in pic #1), but the plastic end cap isn't melted. Also since the light cover melted, the vent cover should have melted and given it an air supply. Since the melt is so directional, it makes me think the fire was a single jet as opposed to a standard flame. This is just my opinion.

Look again at the plastic end cap!! It was about 13 out side that night!!!! Why would someone have a road flare in a trailer???????????

@tschat...the endcaps are fiberglass not plastic. They are very thin, hence the sagging. If I had to hazard a guess I would want to see the wiring inside the wall at that point and see if a wire had shorted against a rib. There is a fair number of wires in the wall near where the fire started.

These high end flashlights - were they found after the fire? Condition? Were they Li-ion batteries (lithium ion)?

Lithium ion batteries - especially rechargable types while being charged - exposed to moisture is a very explosive item. Not the thing I would have laying around. We use them at sea and in several vehicles I operate - ummmm, hear the snap.... crackel.... TIME TO GO.... POP.

Just a thought.

I'm sorry you had this occur. It does look very repairable though.
As a fire investigator AND an Airstream owner, these fires naturally interest me.
What was below the boxlites, and the fire extinguisher? (Closer to the floor)
What is the dark square/rectangle object on the wall to the left of the door in photo #2?

I've been a firefighter for 30 years and from looking at the pictures you have up ,the point of origin for your fire looks to be to be right in the area of the one light box . I am not saying it is the cause but it should be examined very closely for defects. You must have dealt with an adjuster and not an investigator. Insurance companies love subrogation. We have used those lights on our engines for many years without a problem other than normal firefighter destruction but who knows.

Wow Dimmer - 1) I'm glad you weren't in the trailer!!! 2) Glad you're ok 3) Were you towing it ON FIRe? 4) Sure looks like it started IN the wall under the window.... (I'm NOT any fire expert though!!!)... wonder too what's wired in there... the doorbell?

Gee.. a new AS for Christmas wouldn't be too bad!
