Finger Lakes recommendations?

We have a trip planned for September to the Finger Lakes area, from New England. Any suggestions of things we must see? This will be our first time to this area. Interested in restaurants, vineyards, historical/architectural, all things Airstream...

I made some finger lakes area recommendations.

We make a yearly pilgrimage to Lake Seneca to replenish the wine cellar. Our favorite winery at Lake Seneca is Glenora Wine Cellars followed by Fox Run Vineyards. Glenora also has a very nice restaurant.

Just do a Google search for Lake Seneca Wine Trail and Cayuga Wine Trail and you will have no shortage of wineries to tour.

The Corning Glass Works is worth a side trip, as is Watkins Glen State Park - take your hiking boots! Cornell University has a BEAUTIFUL campus. The town of Corning has outlet stores from the glassworks where good deals on dinnerware etc. can be found.


September will be beautiful too if the leaves have stared to change!

Don't know if it's still there but in my last lifetime I lived in Skaneateles.There is a restaurant there called The Krebs. People came from all over.

How about a trip to Cooperstown to visit the baseball hall of fame? It is one of my favorites.
