I would second the recommendation for Letchworth State Park. The Finger Lakes region of NY is a vast area and there is a tremendous amount of things to see and do. I went to school in Ithaca and weekend wine tasting trips were very much in vogue, still are! Don't miss Watkins Glen if you have a chance and camp close by. We also vote for the Best State Park in the Country.
Plan ahead though.....it's very close to Leef-Peep'n Seeson.
