FerryTrails - The Blog - Breaking For Home
It is inevitable - we do go home once in a while. Home is on the West Coast right on the Oregon/California border.
We have a photography rich environment close to home: redwoods, dunes, wild rivers, rocky shores and wetlands. This fog touched image is near one of those unnamed wetlands that help the lower Smith River breathe.

Really beautiful!
If you like ferries and the BC coastal ferry system has gotten too expensive, we enjoy taking the Kootenay Lake ferry in eastern BC. It's a free 35-minute spectacular boat ride, and it drops us off close to my favourite hot springs (Ainsworth.)

Thanks for the tip. We had hoped to make it to where you are this past summer but we only got as far east as Kelowna. I'll have a couple blog entries about that area and our time there in the weeks to come.
