Fayetteville, Arkansas area campground
I was hoping someone might have a suggestion on campgrounds in the Fayetteville, Arkansas area (maybe 30 min drive) that might offer a more scenic stay.
Thanks in advance!

Hide Away Campground, Beaver Lake
US Army Corps of Engineers Campground at Beaver Lake
I've stayed at both. Hide Away would be my best bet. The sites at Corps of Engineer can be challenging depending on the length of your AS. Beaver Lake is beautiful

20 min north is Hickory Creek Park. Small pads. No water or sewer at site. But beautiful. Will go back in future. https://carousel.dropbox.com/photos/cc/8yoPzphbvt0VZiG The link is a picture of our site. Our Safari AS is under a tree.

PaulnGina,
Have you stayed at Lake Fort Smith before? I think it may be my best option, it looked like the sites might offer a little more privacy than Devil's Den.
Thanks,
Greg

Lake Fort Smith State Park is a new park, and very nice.
No good parks in Fayetteville proper.
The only real RV only park is a little sketchy to me. The rest may come up in a web search as RV parks, but are really mobile home sites....
All the state and COE parks listed here are fine.
Regards,
JD

I've stayed at Beaver Lake Prairie Creek COE park a couple of years ago. Had our Casita then but there were lots of larger trailers and motorhomes camping there.
It had been a wet spring and there were lots of ticks.

No, we haven't. But friends have stayed there and they really liked it. That is one of our destinations this season.

Lake Fort Smith is very nice since it is brand new. Very clean and lots of space between sites. That said there isn't much to the park and your view is trees.....not the lake. I actually prefer Devils Den. Even though the spaces are closer together it is beautiful and there is more to see and do. The park was built by the CCC and I love that "camp architecture". I don't dislike Lake Fort Smith I just prefer Devils Den. If this is just a place to stay while you spend time in Fayetteville use Fort Smith. Oh......Devils Den is very popular and can be hard to get reservations.

Here are a couple of pictures from Lake Fort Smith State Park. This first is our campsite. The second is the bath house. The lake was behind our campsite down a hill. These pictures were taken in September 2013. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
