Favorite fast food?

Not a big fast-food eater (since college, anyway)... maybe I've evolved on my food stance, but I'll tell you what: I just love Chick-fil-a.

You can't get a chicken sandwich like theirs anywhere else.

If you are in Pittsburgh a must have is a Primanti Brother's sandwich.

Primanti Bros. Restaurant - Pittsburgh's "Almost Famous" Sandwiches - Primanti Brothers Restaurant

If you are in Baltimore Pit Beef is a great sandwich

Baltimore Pit Beef History

If you are in Maine. A lobster roll is so good.

White Castles, you just can't beat a half dozen sliders and a box of fries.

Oh, you people with your chain-store food. Blech! Go to a place that specializes in homemade burgers and order yourselves a decent green chili cheeseburger! You'll not regret it!

I guess I'm different. Is Subway considered fast-food? It's certainly less lethal than the other stuff.

For the classic Oyster House fish sammich experience, have it with a glass of their own buttermilk - can't be beat!

Love the McD's fries. I just saw on tv that they're not too bad for me!

Within the fast-food genre:

Chik-fil-A has good chicken certainly. We probably should avoid the political issues.

A fresh Whopper is a great burger.

But...I have to mention this, since my wife has lost 90+ lbs, and I've lost 30 lbs over the last year: we pretty much avoid fast food entirely. Erica loves Chik-fil-a (especially their BBQ sauce) but we go there a LOT less than we used to because of the diet. We now pack sandwiches to eat at rest areas, for example.

I frequently stop at Subway after my workouts and get a 6" roast beef on wheat, no cheese, with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, black olives, and green peppers for dinner. Roughly 300 calories plus the veggies. Then I'll have a small peanut butter cup or two for dessert.

Our local Jersey Mikes is not someplace I would send my worst enemy. Others elsewhere may be good, but this one, not so much.
We do have a Jimmy Johns nearby, and a Penn Station. The latter is great for boosting one's sodium level...

Wow, that is terrible. In 10 years of eating at 5 different Jersey Mike's here in the Dallas area, I can honestly say I have never had a sandwich that wasn't first rate, in a very clean and inviting atmosphere with great customer service.

Sounds like somebody needs to tell corporate that one of their franchisee's isn't with the program.

But I guess to each their own because I've only been to Jimmy John's once and wasn't impressed enough with the offering to go back.

If anyone ever drives through Dublin, NH, the general store just south of the Yankee Magazine offices makes great fresh deli sandwiches and is a great place to sit outside on a crisp autumn day and enjoy the view and the hearty fare.
