Ooops, I responded before I clicked on the links. That's very cool. Sounds like a great trip, it even included some fishing

So what's the story?
Where did you get this article? Do you know these folks? Sounds pretty adventuresome to me...especially by themselves, not on a planned, escorted caravan! Can you imagine the stories those kids could tell?
COOL!!!

Thats some good stuff there Cruiser. I would love to read the book if there was one. Just keep on posting more things out of that treasure trove that you have. All of it has been interesting so far. Thanks

fascinating! do you think our new "lowrider" coaches could make such a trip?
gotta love the whitewalls on the burb..... i also wonder if those were not better days,no worry about terrorists...they were true vagabonders with not a care but to see what was over the next hill.....

Glad you all are interested. I think this old stuff is pretty cool. I've been posting excerpts from the Dec., 1957, issue of The Caravanner newspaper that came from the PO of our A/S, together with a number of other old documents. Originally wanted to scan the entire newspaper, but our scanner isn't large enough and also the file size required to read the small print is way too large to post. So for now, I clip and paste news bits into threads as I have time. I'll keep posting until I run out of material. Maybe by then, other folks will have uncovered some things to share.
