That would be really cool. I don't play (anything), but I always wanted to make a guitar because, well,,,, it looks like it would be fun to make a guitar.

John Deere have a great tour in Moline and the Caterpillar Visitor centre in Peoria is interesting. Both companies do factory tours that are pretty cool if you,re into that kind of heavy manufacturing. Enjoy!

The Tillamook Cheese factory in Tillamook Oregon was great. We stopped by on our way to Cannon Beach. Picked up some cheese to take alone.

That was true until they took out the sugar and put in high fructose corn syrup.

Table sugar is about 50% glucose and 50% fructoce to make sucrose. High fructose corn syrup is about 55% fructose and 45% glucose. It has gotten a bad reputation for being linked to "metabolic syndrome" but the truth is, if you replaced all of the high fructose corn syrup in foods and beverages with sucrose from sugarcane, the incidence of metabolic syndrome would be about the same. Too much sugar is too much sugar no matter what form it's in. We still use more of it than our bodies are designed to use.

By the way, fructose is so named because it's "fruit sugar." It's also found in apples and honey and other tasty treats that are good for you. Other sugars in our diet include lactose from dairy products and maltose from barley and wheat, and so is present in things like beer and bread.

Went on the Beermaster Behind the Scenes Budweiser Factory Tour in Jacksonville, FL today. It was top notch and we enjoyed it! Samples at the end, free hat and glass but best of all were the ice cold fresh out of the fermenter samples. I want to go back next week!

I updated the list with the additional information. Thanks everyone. Now I think I'll go have some Dr. Pepper and Blue Bunny ice cream (we don't have Blue Bell around here).

I didn't see the New Holland equipment factory tour on your list. It's in New Holland Pennsylvania Lancaster County. Their laser cutting machine is awesome. Their hours are odd so call first.

How about winery tours? Our favorites are Bully Hill and Hazlitt near Watkins Glen New York.

When in Ohio for the Airstream tour go to Amish country for woodworking at furniture making and the cheese factories. Great stuff! And the restaurants with wonderful food. Oh and pies and pastries. Good camping and peaceful.
