Eastern NC and coast, Outer Banks

We are new to NC mountains and want to take our vintage unit to the outer Banks or to a convenient park near there. I would appreciate ideas and suggestions....both rv parks and favorite things to do.

We want to go very soon while the temps are still mild.

Also, I suppose a good scrub down is recommended after every beach venture due to salt aid?

We were looking for a place on the Outer Banks a few years ago and ended up below there at Emerald Isle, NC. Great campground on the beach. We stayed at a Holiday Travel Park. Highly recommend it.

You might enjoy the Nat'l Seashore sites rather than the commercial locations if you are prepared to be rustic-
Campgrounds - Cape Hatteras National Seashore (U.S. National Park Service)

A small commercial (and less expensive) campground with 68 sites but a stickler for rules is:
Ocean Waves Redirect Page

The limited number of spaces for RVs along the Outer-banks really rings the per night rate upwards as summer approaches. The KOA has nice concrete pads but packs 'em in at almost $70/night.

You are correct about being sure to thoroughly rinse your rig after a trip to the beach.

On the outer banks there is "OBX Campground" it is on Colington Island, only about 2 years old, bath house is nice, it is quiet and clean, no amenities to speak of but the beach is 5 minutes away with public parking were the road comes out, extremely convenient and not crowded.

There are probably dozens of threads on campgrounds on the Outer Banks - do a search and you'll likely find more info than you need.
