Easter Airstreaming in South of Germany

Hello All,

some news from Airstream in Europe...

On Easter weekend we have been meeting with two Airstream 684 International in South of German at a Campsite calles AdventureCamp Schnitzmühle.

Nice Campsite, open fire and nice food.. Wonderfull weekend.

I made a little video from this Trip which is posted on youtube - enjoy.

Next weekend we are going to have our first Airstream Germany Owners meeting here near Frankfurt. Its still a small Airstream world over here in Europe but growing :-)

Best regards
Armin

Great video, looks like lots of fun. I like the kayaks and the night scenes especially.

Count me in too as a fan of the presentation! I am going to try to take some little videos with my camera and try to edit them into something like that this summer!

Of course, yours looks professional, but with the little free tool that comes with Windows, (Windows Movie Maker) it isn't too hard to get acceptable results.

Thanks for the show and the inspiration!

Thanks for the possitiver feedback---Yes we had a great Trip..

@ Aage:
I am not doing this professional...this video was produced using a normal digital photokamera (Nikon S8000) and Windows Movie Maker /Premiere Elements.

So go ahead and try it out...its quite easy theses days with the tools you already have.

Best regards
Armin

Great video and pictures! Thanks so much for posting!

Taking our Interstate overseas for a trip of 3-6 months is a dream of ours which is starting to look possible in the next couple of years. Would love to see and hear more about camping in Europe.

Absolutely cool. We lived near Baden-Baden in 2006 and 2007 when our family transferred to Germany for the company that I work for. We did some tent camping while in Germany, but no Airstreaming.

I brought back great memories to see the road signs, the buildings... Nice to see a trampoline that doesn't have sides on it that are 6 feet tall. I assume your tow vehicle (which is a Jeep Commander to us on the other side of the pond) is a diesel.

Looks like you had a great time and that's the main idea.

Ahhh, brings back memories of camping in Garmish in Southern Germany back in 2000 while I was in the Navy. Tent camping (didn't have an Airstream at the time) but it was a wonderful, week-long trip with the family. I still have my Black Forest Coo-Coo Clock.

I'm surprised that there aren't many Airstreams in Germany. Whenever I see an auction for a vintage Airstream on EBAY, Germans are often involved in the bidding (and other Europeans, too).

@ mello mike

Airstreams are very popular over her ein Europe as an American icon
But as they have not been sold new in the last centuries there is not a large population over here. The orginal US Models are not legal to tow over here.
We have different axles, towbars and electricity (230 Volt instead of 110)
Also our cars are generally smaller and nose weight is much lower which is the main challenge if you are going to convert a US Airstream.
Vintage Airstreams are mainly used to convert them into commercial units for food and beverage sales over here. There are only a view original vintage units uses as travel trailers.

But since we habe the European Airstream Modell the community is growing every year... :-)

We were in Munic during our spring break. Toured the 1972 olympic site and there was a very nice Airstream parked there. I believe it may have belonged to a construction crew.

Have fun and enjoy that Airstream.
