Parked at Key West Trumbo Point dry camp. No reservations required. Water fills, sewer dump and clean showers at $14 a night. It currently takes a week or two to move over to Sigsbee with full hookups at $24 a night. Boca Chica is Key West Naval Air Station. The Coast Guard has their station here at Trumbo.

I have always preferred Trumbo Point as you can walk or bike downtown. If you wear yourself out exploring, the city bus (discount for military including retirees) will bring you right to the gate.
Hard to beat the price.

Your Blue Angels are straying. I'm at LYH in Melbourne and we had two of them up here for a bit around noon over near the airport. And about 45 minutes ago one showed up and did some precision flying with a prop plane. Always a great show.

We had the district pleasure of being invited to the Naval Air Facility in El Centro CA. to watch one of their pre-season practice shows in early March.
Got to pull our lawn chairs on the ramp and watch one heck of a show... To say these folks have skill is very much an understatement. And to watch is so up close was just amazing!

I catch them in Pensacola several times a year. Never gets old and is always a thrill. I camp at the Blue Angels Family Camp or at Fort Pickens when I get over there.

We spent 5 wks at Sigsbee. Let's keep this a secret. Don't want this one to get out. It was a shell game to get in back in late January. We got lucky but many got sent away. Great place and plan to go back next year.

Honestly not real thrilled with dry camping here right now. The heat and humidity are pretty rough to handle without AC. It is supposed to cool off some tonight and tomorrow. Having to run both fans nonstop to keep a little air moving in the trailer for me and cat. Fridge is struggling on gas. The 100 watt suitcase solar is keeping up but just barely.

Chief, those things can grow to a huge size. Put him in a cage for about a month feeding him a good diet of vegetables. That will clean his system out. They do it in the Bahamas all the time. The meat when clean is very sweet. Otherwise they are scavengers and will swarm over a rotting carcass.

Nice, we flew to Miami last month and drove to Key West in a rented car. Have thought about bringing the Airstream next time.
