Hate (not really) people who hate campfires. Get a hotel room!

There are a lot of people here who appear very angry from the content and tone of their posts. This debate reminds me of the national political debate where everyone is talking past everyone else. Get a grip.

I can't wait to start the next fire. It was one helluva good Airstream rally.
I was a little worried FOR your camper at one point. I bet you didn't need to use the furnace that night, though!

If you are in a Texas State Park, there will likely be no fire ritual.. W just got back from South Llano River State Park. Total burn ban, to include charcoal.
So I painted the wife's hair dryer red and stuck it upright in the fire pit. Grandkids loved it. But I have No idea how she is going to get all that sticky marshmallow stuff out of it.

Most of the state parks I've talked to have a complete ban on open flames. Not even a Coleman stove outside of a trailer.

I should have mentioned that I'm in Missouri, and unfortunately, there's no "burn ban" at the moment.

Looks like a good weekend to be camping in Missouri this weekend. 40s at night. It will be nice to be by the fire.. Park Rangers are getting touchy about where you got your firewood though. No dragging logs in out of the woods, and no moving firewood in from out of the area.. Good reasons for both, just don't want you to pay a fine for your fire..

Have a great weekend.

Jeff

Hi Jeff, we're at Babler through the end of next month; (wife volunteers in the visitor center in exchange for an electric site). Stop by sometime.....look for the site with an Airstream and no campfire.

So is my wife's, except she spells it "Jean". And I always wear jeans.

Some threads seem to live on and on after everything has been said and said. Perhaps we could enliven this one with a spirited discussion of the WBCCI stance on campfires.

No wait....Not the WBCCI. Let's try again, all by ourselves...

"I Hate 'em."
"I Like em."

Ahh well, Bring in the WBCCI .

Oct. 1st is the start of Archery hunting season in Michigan. Bow hunting during the day and campfires at night plus a couple of beers.

There were plenty of bodies absorbing the heat and buffering the trailer. You're right, we didn't have to turn the heat on until early morning. I did notice the faint odor of smoke in there after we got home. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Ha! Just an observation, but over the years, we've been to one International and two Regional rallies, and there were no fires. Weather, and campgrounds permitting, there always seems to be fires at the unit rallies. Perhaps this supports the theory that it's all about fun on the unit level. Hope we're not in violation of anything in the WBCCI Blue Book.
Just trying to stay on, and off, topic.

Campfires are alright, as long as they are far, far away from the Airstream. It's not fun trying to get rid of the campfire smell inside an Airstream that is for sure!

Around the campfire, how do you tell a female chromosome from a male chromosome?

Take down their genes.

Uncle Eugene* was a character on Bob and Ray's radio and TV programs many decades ago. He collected peanut butter sandwiches and stored them in spare rooms. Are you related to that Uncle Eugene? Shall we ask Mr. Trace, Keener Than Most Persons to find them?

Gene

*My name is not "Eugene", legally or illegally, I am no one's uncle and I do like peanut butter, but do not collect sandwiches of any sort. Any resemblance to persons living, dead or imaginary is coincidental and past performance is no indication of a future. Hang by your thumbs.
