Our music is adjusted just loud enough to compensate for the "screaming camper" site down the road.

You may notice that I'm the one sitting back and taking photos...it's my loud friends who are the noise makers. So, don't camp at Lakeshore resort, or next to my house went my friends are there. When it's The Bunny and I camping or RV'ing, we are the quiet one's. And the music...we cut it off at 10 pm, when there are rules. But we do have a new sound system in Rita...

So, you should be asking where Porno Bob and Indian Mike are camping...PS they are both tent campers... so they're back in the tent section anyway! Like when we camped at Lake Syskiyou earlier this summer. They got yellow slips for being loud at there campsite... we where camped down by the lake next to the cabins... no issues.

I assure you that much loud music can be had with a tent, a portable music player and speakers. Years ago we'd drive far from anyone on 4wd roads and set up the rock 'n' roll and disturb the coyotes. I think it kept the bears away too. I wouldn't do that in a campground though.

There must be a story to "Porno Bob's" name—he has a big porno collection, or he's a movie actor?

I'm with CrawfordGene... I don't really care where they're camping next, but I'd be interested to know how Porn Bob got his name.

This weekend was unbelievable. A campfire less than 20 feet from my treasured silver bullet. There were 25-30 people eating, drinking, and talking late into the night. The smoke, the watering eyes, coughing when the wind changes, the next day, your clothes and hair smelling like smoke...

I can't wait to start the next fire. It was one helluva good Airstream rally.

What I like about campfires.....

When that great camping trip is over..... you put on your favorite field jacket and your nose takes right back to the great memories.

Porno Bob got his name from being a really poor photographer with his snap and shoot camera. It has nothing to do with the Porno business or anything in that area. He was always missing the shot where some girl had her shirt up showing off her...chest, at some biker event or poker run. And the funny thing about it...he sees himself as a really great photographer! His old nickname's were "Photo Bob", and "Plumber Bob".

So anyway, I got him a name patch with "Prono Bob" on it...he put it on his leather vest. From that day on a legend was born...in his own mind, but he really is well known around the Redding area in the biker world. His current girlfriend doesn't like his nickname, or the patch, so he doesn't wear his vest much anymore. Sooo, that's the story of "Porno Bob".

Indian Mike got his name, because he owned a 1937 Indian motorcycle when we first met him...he just sold it, for big money, to a person in New Zealand. Not sure what we will call him now....maybe just Mike.

Do you still camp?

It seems that state campgrounds have more of them, in our experience. We prefer state campgrounds for everything about them except the fact that every site has to build a fire. I know it's part of the camping thing for families, but frequently there is a blanket of smoke over the whole place every night. It's so thick it irritates your throat and you carry the smell with you for ever. We end up closing all the windows in an attempt to keep some of the smoke out of the trailer so we can sleep.

Most campgrounds have more than one "loop" or section of camp sites. So we thought why don't they make one section a no campfire zone? Unless we are the only ones......
Well, since you posted this way back in 2009.... have you gotten used to campfires, stopped going to state parks or do you now embrace the smell of burning wood?

We love them , but its more fun is trying to watch someone else get their fire going , then get out the charcoal lighter and pour it on .

There are a lot of people here who appear very angry from the content and tone of their posts. This debate reminds me of the national political debate where everyone is talking past everyone else. Get a grip.

I was a little worried FOR your camper at one point. I bet you didn't need to use the furnace that night, though!
