We always try to say "hey" in whatever way makes sense..if we see them in time...and if they see us in time, they usually respond...with enthusaism... In camp grounds I slow waaaay down hoping for somemone to look up and say "hey" so we can stop and chat a minute. (If we aren't towing, the probably think this is really weird.)

I like saying "hey" to other Airstreamers!

We certainly do - and then try to grab the directory to see who it is! Don't always get a return wave, but, well, too bad.

I've also noticed a lot of waves from owners of modern sports cars when I drive the MG nowadays.

other silver trailers...

I've had people start to wave at me, then get this odd look on their face and quickly pull their hands down when they see I'm pulling....Heaven forbid, an Avion No kidding, this happened about ten times coming up I-77 last summer. There must have been an Airstream rally or something in NC or SC because as I was coming north from Statesville with my new to me 34-X, I must have seen 30 Airstreams heading south. A bunch waved, some ignored me utterly (I waved at all of them), and a few did the start-to-wave-but-it's-the-wrong-silver-brand-so-retract-the-wave bit.

Hey, it's silver! No call for snobbery out there. Ah well, I wave at all the silver ones.

Take care,
- Jim

Same here. I can't count the number of times that I have driven much faster than usual to catch up with a nice new gleaming tank truck. This has happened so often that we now keep binoculars handy for SuEllyn to do an early target assessment.

As far as oncoming Airstreams go, I blink Olivia's headlights feverishly upon any sighting. I have been known to do this to an Avion on at least several occasions.

Westfalia, I had no idea flashing lights in Co. was illegal. I do flash my lights when seeing another AS on the road and most the time get a response. I guess I need to be carfull while in Co. Also from Evergreen,CO.

When we're traveling Susan loves to keep the camera handy to see if she can snap a picture or two of passing Airstreams. She is actually quite good at it. Even when we aren't in our Airstream motorhome she frequently has the camera ready "just in case" .

So if you see someone in a green Dodge Dakota from Arkansas taking pictures you'll know who it is!

Some states think that you are signalling about a radar trap and have made blinking illegal. We wave and sometimes look up their number.
