Last I heard WDW was upgrading all of their properties (including Ft. Wildnerness) to wireless. It's been awhile since I heard they were working on that so for all I know the project may be complete now.

Disney

We spent three nights at Disney's Camp Wilderness Disney in February. As other had said it is very nice but not sure of the need for a concrete pad as we spent all of our time in the parks. I have included some photos. The picture of the wild turkeys is from our door and yes it was cool in the morning but not like it was back home. The picture of the giraffes is from Animal Kingdom. They were not roaming the park

As a great resource, there is an app called Ft. Wilderness Sites. List every site, with pictures and dimensions of sites as well as ease of backing in ratings for every loop in the park. A very nice tool to look over some sites at the park.

Silverlabs, I just tried finding the app and did not have any success. Do you have apple products? I do and maybe it is not made for apple yet.

We can link directly to the page with the links to the apps, saving people the headache of clicking around to find it.

This will be my first trip to Ft.Wilderness.
Am I correct assuming that you get a reservation first for any site in a certain type loop, then when you arrive they assign you to a camping site?
Any recommendations on dog friendly site #'s to choose in the 100-300 loop?

Here has been our experience based on about 10 trips to FW with two large dogs:

You are correct that you get a reservation for a given loop and are assigned a site when you arrive. You can ask if a specific is open when you arrive, and sometimes they will give it to you. Also, although they don't welcome it, if you inspect your site and don't like it, you can hustle back and try to be reassigned to another site you may have seen was open. We've never been refused when we've done this, but they've never seemed happy about it.

We have found the 800 loop to have the best access to the long, woodsy dog walk area away from other sites, and found site 814 (and sites near that ideal).

Have fun!
Joe
