Denison, TX Recommendations?

My wife and I plan on spending a long term stay in Denison Texas starting this November. It looks like there are quite a few places listed online for RV parking with it being so close to Lake Texoma. Any recommendations on parks in or around Denison for long term stays?

The only place I have stayed in that area is Eisenhower State Park, which isn't really geared to long-term stays. Beautiful area, though! Just pack plenty of DEET for your skin and permethrin for your clothing and window screens. Deerflies and chiggers were both horrendous when I was there in the summer of 2013.

Texas state parks don't have sewer hookups at there sites nor does the Oklahoma state park just west of Durant. I've been to Eisenhower State Park. It wasn't one of my favorite Texas State Parks when I lived there. We didn't suffer from bugs during November when we visited.
Most COE parks are closed by Novemeber however the ones around Lake Texoma, most of which are in Oklahoma have an off season camping but no campsite water nor flush toilets or showers are available but it sounds like campsite electricity is still available. You have to fill your water tanks at a specific frost proof faucet and I guess the dump station is open. Probably a two week limit at these parks.

I can't recommed any private RV parks around there. The only one we stayed at was back in late 80s in Colbert, OK. It was a KOA back then. Its next to an RV dealership right on highway 69. I remember it wasn't too bad.

Good luck.
