Looks like a piece of plastic that someone made a million dollars coming up with the idea.

So... what have you to say? What is YOUR local observation?....
The guy who dreamed up "deer whistles" was a marketing GENIUS, not to mention a true psycho-gnome of the human species. He knows that you can sell anything to humans if you simply make them AFRAID. VERY, VERY, AFRAID...of anything... anything at all, .... hard-of-hearing deer (which apparently can hear a silent whistle and immediately discern that it means to run AWAY from the car...instead of the roaring engines, whirring fan blades, and screaming tires that must tell them to run INTO the vehicle)... yeah... right.

I took my wifes car into the body shop only ONE WEEK after her retrievng it from the body shop from the deer that hit her left front fender.... this time to repair her RIGHT front fender.
I noticed the deer whistles in their pkgs sitting on the body shop mgr's desk and asked him, "I guess you recommend those things?"
His reply, "Actually, I forgot to put them on another customer's car to replace the ones HIS deer knocked off. NOW I have to submit an amendment to his insurance company to be reimbursed for them. I get as many cars hit by deer with as I do without them."

Dumb deer! Don't know the difference between "deer whistles" and "roaring engines, fans, and tires!"
DUMBER PEOPLE! Don't know the difference between money well-spent and money thrown away!

I've only met two skunks…Liked them both

The first one…I woke up in the woods while backpacking, to find a skunk smelling my foot. The skunk was not afraid of me. I laid there looking at it for awhile, then I jumped up and ran figuring that I could outrun the stink. The skunk never sprayed. I felt bad that I dissed that animal.

The second one got between me and the front door while I was out sitting on the steps. I sat and talked to her a bit. She was mostly white, and beautiful. I had to get to bed, so I walked past her and went inside.

So I see skunks as sweet animals.

I bet that stunk.

I just do not remember the tune. Much like... "Detour There's a Muddy Road Ahead" by Paul Westmoreland- 1945. That might work with your Blackbird tune.

Detour, there's a muddy road ahead.
Detour, paid no mind to what it said.
Detour, all these bitter things I find.
Should have read that detour sign.

*********

Air Streamer's Lament, after a car wash and wax, then this happens...

Headed down life's crooked road lot of things I never knowed
And because of me not knowing I now pine
Trouble's got in the trail spent the next five years in jail
Should have read that detour sign
Detour there's a muddy road ahead detour paid no mind to what it said
Detour oh these bitter things I find should have read that detour sign
When I got right to the place where it said about face
I thought that all my worries were behind
But the further I go the more sorrow
I know, Should have read that detour sign
Detour there's a muddy road...
Detour there's a muddy road...
Should have read that detour sign
*********

Anyone else have some tune stuck in their mind that can add some additional humor to an otherwise, cold, snowy, wet and miserable Spring?

Not a song, but maybe you can start thinking how many of these could be hosted where you are right now, amongst all that lovely mud: http://www.mudrunguide.com/directory/usa/

I can tell you're still snowed in up there, aren't you. Just hang in there...you'll be able to hit the road soon enough to gather more material for next winter's observations and musings. Have a good year. jon
