Daytona Campground

We are thinking about heading to Daytona, and the nicest campground I have been able to find on the net (other than State parks) looks to be the Encore park at Ormond Beach. Anyone have thoughts on this place? I need a park this trip with activities to keep my two teens busy- they have a pool (heated) basketball, volleyball, mini golf, etc, and not far from the beach. then we woul site see off the property to some of the local attractions.

If you are willing to stay about an hour south of there, the Great Outdoors resort in Titusville is about the nicest place I have ever stayed. It's always 10/10/10 in the TL Directory.

They have pools, hiking trails, restaurants on site, an 18-hole golf course, a fitness center, fishing lakes and even a beauty shop and RV repair shop on site. Lots of full time snowbirds live there, but they will rent you a vacant lot.

It's at the high end at $45/night, but that's a concrete pad, CATV and the nicest bathrooms I have ever seen - they are individual private bathrooms just like at home.

The Space Center is just a few minutes down the road, as well as the Astronaut Hall of Fame and a pretty good WWII plane museum at the local airport.

Alan, there is Brawn Mawr (spelling?), but it is just south of St. Augustine. Nice campground, but is aways from Daytona.

Marineland has just reopened, and offers a "swim with the dolphins" program
