hey gang,
this is the report of our annual trip to davenport iowa for the fall national meet of the antique motorcycle club of america. there was a large swap meet and vintage motorcycle races. airstreams, vintage bikes and a trip to the rock island arsenal.
had a great time despite the fuel prices!
the usual suspects plus some new faces were in attendance... the weather was perfect and the beer was cold!
here are some pics of the trip!

my bike
went shopping for some parts for my bike....
here it is with it's new brake pedal! i have been looking for one for two years!
success at last! 
in addition, i was able to find a set of fork sliders, a nice kick starter and a crash bar that needs some work.

our trip to the rock island arsenal.
what a historic place, has been in operation since the civil war. there is a very cool museum, one just needs to state citizen status and provide an ID to gain access.

back to the fairgrounds, our group is not the only one who mix motorcycles and airstreams!
here are a couple from the campground at the miss. valley fairgrounds.
i have seen the bambi there in prior years. but, the argosy was new this year.

Great area....
What? No pictures of Davenport? It's a great town. Very historic, brick streets and they even have a curvey street like San Francisco. It's sort of scary to go down. Many old, old, "riverboat captain" type houses. Sure doesn't look like the rest of Iowa.
Loved it..... and the great pictures of the silver beauties.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the The Quad City area. We are really kind of undiscovered. If you return visit the Deere exibits in downtown Moline and when you are tired of yellow and green the is a great micro brewery as well as a german restaurant with lots of good stuff on tap that is nearby

here is a shot of us departing the campground for home.
we were lucky and got going just before it started raining, the other campers were keeping a keen eye on us as we decamped, dumped the tanks and got lined up with almost military precision. all in less than an hour!
it is fun to camp with other folks who are organized, it makes group activities a snap!

only upon departure rog, the rest of the time was chaos as usual.
